The industry trade union has focused on directing and guiding grassroots trade unions to perform well their function of representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of employees; regularly monitoring and supervising the implementation of policies and regimes for employees, especially salary payment, social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance, business trip expenses, maternity benefits, etc.; participating in contributing ideas to the draft Law on Employment (amended), the Trade Union Law, the Law on Teachers, and Circulars on teachers' working hours; organizing regular dialogues between unit leaders and employees; developing and organizing negotiations and signing collective labor agreements for non-public units to best care for employees, etc.
Typically, after storm No. 3 (storm Yagi) occurred, the Thai Binh Education Trade Union proactively grasped the situation, counted the number of cadres, union members, teachers, workers, and students affected by the storm and asked for direction to provide support, visit union members, teachers, workers, and students in units with a total amount of 550 million VND from the support source of the Da Nang City Education Trade Union; Thua Thien Hue Province Education Trade Union; and Vietnam Education Trade Union.
