On October 14, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor coordinated with the Provincial National Assembly Delegation to organize a meeting between voters and workers and laborers in Thanh Hoa province, before the 8th session of the 15th National Assembly.
Attending the conference were Mr. Cao Manh Linh - Standing Member of the Judicial Committee of the National Assembly; Mr. Mai Van Hai - Deputy Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Thanh Hoa Province; Mr. Vo Manh Son - Chairman of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Labor Federation; representatives of leaders of provincial departments and branches and over 300 voters who are union members and workers in the province.
At the conference, voters listened to Ms. Cam Thi Man - Full-time National Assembly Delegate announce the expected program of the 8th session of the 15th National Assembly; report on suggestions for comments on the draft Law on Trade Unions (amended) and the Law on Employment (amended).
In a democratic and frank spirit, voters reflected to the provincial National Assembly deputies a number of issues related to the living situation, employment, regimes and policies for workers such as: unemployment insurance policy; working hours, rest hours; credit policy for job creation; regulations on support from employers for childcare and kindergarten costs for workers; planning for the construction of nurseries and kindergartens for workers in industrial parks and economic zones...
Along with that, voters also sent their thoughts and suggestions to the National Assembly to study, provide investment incentives, and support businesses to proactively improve the skills of workers, especially in industries with high growth trends. Consider regulating a suitable payroll management mechanism in the Trade Union Law (amended), increasing the initiative of trade unions in arranging trade union staff, meeting the requirements of tasks in the new situation; continue to regulate the revenue source of 2% of trade union funds in the Trade Union Law (amended).
Consult with competent authorities to have specific regulations and feasible solutions in resolving unemployment support for employees when they quit or lose their jobs before the enterprise declares dissolution, bankruptcy or transfers the enterprise to another employer.
On behalf of the National Assembly Delegation of Thanh Hoa Province, Mr. Mai Van Hai - Deputy Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Thanh Hoa Province thanked and highly appreciated the opinions and recommendations of voters. Thereby, the National Assembly Delegation of Thanh Hoa Province will fully absorb the opinions and recommendations of voters to continue to recommend the National Assembly and relevant agencies to develop appropriate mechanisms and policies according to regulations, in order to ensure the legitimate rights and interests of workers.
On this occasion, the National Assembly Deputies of Thanh Hoa province and the Provincial Federation of Labor presented funds to support building and repairing houses for union members with difficult housing circumstances, worth more than 1.1 billion VND; and presented gifts to workers with difficult circumstances, serious illnesses, sequelae, and work-related accidents, with a total amount of more than 2 billion VND.
