Mr. Le Dinh Hung - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Permanent Vice President in charge of the City Labor Federation chaired the announcement ceremony.
Also attending were Vice Presidents of the City Labor Federation Nguyen Huy Khanh, Nguyen Chinh Huu, Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy and Ms. Tran Thi Kim Anh - Deputy Head of the Labor Relations Department of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
Previously, on August 20, the Hanoi City Labor Federation issued 31 Decisions on the establishment of 31 grassroots unions under the Hanoi City Labor Federation.

The total number of union members of these 31 grassroots unions is 1,646 people. Grassroots trade unions have legal status, are allowed to use their own seal, open accounts at banks; perform tasks and powers according to the provisions of law and the Charter of the Vietnam Trade Union.
Speaking at the announcement ceremony of the Decision to establish grassroots trade unions, Mr. Le Dinh Hung expressed his hope that the newly established grassroots trade unions will accompany the City Labor Federation in implementing tasks; overcoming initial difficulties and challenges.
In particular, it is necessary to effectively perform the three core functions of the trade union organization, including: Representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers; participating in developing legal policies, specifically developing content and regulations of agencies and enterprises, ensuring grassroots democracy; propagating and mobilizing union members and workers to well implement the Party's guidelines and the State's laws and policies, actively participating in patriotic emulation movements, especially movements of a special nature launched by the Trade Union organization...
