On June 12, at Hoa Phu Industrial Park, more than 200 workers from enterprises launched a garbage collection campaign, in response to the World Environment Day 2025 jointly organized by the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Vinh Long province.
This is one of the key activities of the Environmental Action Month, with the theme "Anti-polluting plastic".
Ms. Tran Thi Hong Nhung, a garment worker, said that every day when she goes to work, she sees a lot of garbage on both sides of the industrial park road. Today, having the opportunity to participate in the cleanup, she felt more responsible for her own working environment.
Sharing the same feeling, Mr. Nguyen Van Thai - a worker at Ty Xuan Company Limited said that participating in this activity, he realized that just by each person placing garbage in the right place, limiting the use of plastic items at once, he has greatly contributed to environmental protection.
Mr. Vo Tan Khai - Chairman of the Trade Union of Industrial Parks of Vinh Long province said that the unit has mobilized dozens of enterprises to arrange workers to participate in waste collection.
"We are not just stopping at the movement. The Trade Union will continue to promote a green lifestyle, aiming to build a clean - beautiful - safe working environment right at the enterprise, Mr. Khai emphasized.
After the launching ceremony, groups of workers divided into routes to collect garbage along the main road in front of Hoa Phu Industrial Park, about 2km long.
Collectible tools, hats, gloves... are all carefully prepared, contributing to creating a vibrant and practical atmosphere for activities.
