MMA LION Championship 19 Mixed Martial Arts Schedule

Today (November 16), the LION Championship 19 (LC19) mixed martial arts tournament will take place from 7:30 p.m. in Phu Quoc, Kien Giang.

This event witnessed the highly anticipated confrontation between the two most notorious stand-up fighters in the 77kg weight class, Ly Van Huynh and Armando De Crescenzo, to determine the champion.

Returning after an absence from the 2023 season, Ly Van Huynh (The Champ MMA) quickly demonstrated his strength with a knockout of Luu Nhan Nghia at the LC14 event. The left leg with "crushing" kicks of the 1998-born boxer quickly brought him back to the position of a contender for the belt.

On the opposite side, Armando De Crescenzo was not far behind when it took less than 2 minutes to defeat Dang Hoang Minh at LC16. With a sharp Muay Thai foundation, the fighter from South Africa left a strong impression thanks to his intelligent, alert fighting style and especially his ability to finish off a variety of opponents.

In the 60kg weight class, number one candidate Tran Ngoc Luong continues to play the role of "welcoming guests" with a friendly match with Casipe Rhino Salvadico (Robin Catalan) - a Filipino fighter from the famous Catalan training center, which has contributed many quality candidates to tournaments such as ONE Championship.

Meanwhile, the tournament's largest weight class of 84kg will see a confrontation between Tran Quoc Toan - who just competed for the championship belt at the LION Championship 11 event in December 2023. After failing to win the title, Quoc Toan will have to face the powerful wrestler from Belarus - Zakhar Dzmitrychenka. With his forte in Classical Wrestling, Zakhar aims to have his first title match - the prize for the winner of the confrontation at LION Championship 19.

The LION Championship 19 event also saw the return of many candidates who had good performances in the A-tier.

MMA Xuan Bac Ninh Binh representative - Bui Dinh Khai, after defeating Dang Van Quy at LC17, will welcome veteran Tran Trong Kim in the 56kg weight class. With a series of 3 consecutive wins, Dinh Khai will have to overcome the experienced challenge from PFC Phu Quoc if he wants to go further in the 56kg class.

One of the most notable female rookies in the current season, Lo Thi Phung is also aiming for a title shot. After defeating Le Thi Thuy Vy in her debut match, the Thai ethnic girl will face a familiar name in the women's 52kg class, Ho Thi Ngoc Bich.

The highly rated young talent in the men's 60kg category, Bach Van Nghia, will also have his last match in 2023 against Phan Huy Hoang. The 6th place in Huy Hoang's weight class is certainly an attractive target for Bach Van Nghia as he is looking to quickly join the top 5 this year.

In the opening match of the event, Tran Viet Anh from Kickfit Sports MMA will face Nguyen Trung Hai - a humorous fighter from MMA Saigon.

After a forgettable result at the end of 2023, Trung Hai is predicted to have difficulty finding his first victory in the 65kg class against a Tran Viet Anh who has clearly improved after two years of participating in professional MMA.
