Latest update from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 7:00 a.m. on November 16, the center of super typhoon Man-yi was at about 12.5 degrees north latitude; 126.7 degrees east longitude, in the sea east of the central Philippines.
The strongest wind near the center of the super typhoon is level 16 (184-201km/h), gusting over level 17. The storm moves west-northwest at a speed of 20-25km/h.
Typhoon No. 9 Usagi has moved out to the sea south of Taiwan (China) but continues to cause bad weather in the northeastern sea of the North East Sea area.
Yesterday afternoon, November 15, storm Usagi entered the East Sea and became storm number 9 with gusts of level 12. Currently, the storm has moved outward, but this location is still close to the East Sea.
In the next 24 hours, the storm is forecast to move northwest at a speed of 20 - 25 km/h. At 7:00 a.m. on November 17, the center of super typhoon Man-yi was at about 14.7 degrees north latitude; 123.3 degrees east longitude, in the sea east of the central Philippines.
The strongest wind near the center of the super typhoon is level 16, gusting over level 17.
It is forecasted that in the next 48 hours, the storm will move northwest at a speed of 20 - 25 km/h, enter the East Sea and gradually weaken. At 7:00 a.m. on November 18, the center of storm Man-yi was at about 17.3 degrees north latitude; 119.2 degrees east longitude, in the eastern sea area of the North East Sea.
The strongest wind near the center of the super typhoon is level 12, gusting to level 15.
It is forecasted that in the next 72 hours, the storm will move west-northwest at a speed of 15 - 20km/h. At 7:00 a.m. on November 19, the center of storm Man-yi was at about 18.8 degrees north latitude; 115.1 degrees east longitude, in the North East Sea, about 460km east-northeast of Hoang Sa archipelago.
The strongest wind near the center of the super typhoon is level 12, gusting to level 15.
From the next 72 to 120 hours, the storm moved west-southwest, traveling 10-15km per hour, and continued to weaken.
Regarding the impact of the storm at sea, from the afternoon of November 17, the sea area east of the North East Sea has strong winds of level 6 - 7, then increasing to level 8 - 9, the area near the storm's eye has winds of level 10 - 12, gusts of level 16, waves 2 - 4m high, the area near the storm's eye has waves of 5 - 7m; the sea is very rough.
Ships operating in the above mentioned dangerous areas are likely to be affected by storms, whirlwinds, strong winds and large waves.
