In the last days of September, Bu Prang 1 and Dak Huyt, in Quang Truc commune (Lam Dong province) were brightly decorated with the joy of the people.
The project "Lighting up the border area" with 153 solar bulbs, spanning more than 6km of inter-village and border road, has brought a new look to the border commune.
The project has a total cost of more than 270 million VND, sponsored by the Volunteer Center organization, the locality contributes 30%. The roads that were once dark and difficult to travel on have now become bright, becoming a meaningful highlight in community life.

Mr. Dieu N'Day - representative of the people of the two villages emotionally shared: "From now on, the roads in the village will be lit, children will go to school more conveniently, and people will travel at night more safely. We promise to preserve the project and actively join hands to build new rural areas, maintaining border security".
Not only has the simple meaning of lighting, the "Lighting up the border" movement in Quang Truc also creates many practical values.
In terms of economy, the lit roads help people more conveniently produce and trade goods. Thereby promoting the economic development of households.


In terms of culture - society, night light contributes to improving spiritual life. Thereby, helping villagers have the conditions to organize community activities, preserving traditional identity.
Regarding national defense and security, the lighting system also supports functional forces and people in patrolling, protecting borders and border markers, and maintaining security and order in the area.
In particular, the project affirms the strength of the "Fatherland and People Working Together" movement, with the participation of the political system, the support of benefactors and the direct presence of the Police, the Army, and the Border Guard.
Thanks to that, up to now, the total length of the lighted roads in Quang Truc has exceeded 25km - a proud number for a border commune with many difficulties.

Mr. Duong Huy Toan - Party Secretary, Chairman of the People's Council of Quang Truc commune - emphasized: "This is an extremely meaningful project, bringing civilized light to the border area, helping people travel safely, maintaining security and order.
In the coming time, the commune will continue to mobilize more social resources, expanding the lighting line to many hamlets, remote areas. Thereby, contributing to building new rural areas, improving people's lives and maintaining national border sovereignty and security".
With clear effectiveness, "Lighting up the border" has become a project to welcome Party Congresses at all levels, the Congress of the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations for the 2025-2030 term.
Moreover, the project also left a deep impression on the people, becoming a symbol of solidarity, trust and aspiration for development at the border of the Fatherland.
