On March 3, a working delegation led by Mr. Nguyen Van Tho - Standing Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council (HĐND), Standing Vice Chairman of the City Election Committee, Head of Working Group No. 11 - chaired, worked with 17 wards, communes, and special zones under Election Unit No. 5 of National Assembly Deputies; Election Units No. 12, 13 of Ho Chi Minh City People's Council Deputies on the preparation for the election of National Assembly Deputies and People's Council Deputies at all levels, term 2026-2031.
The working session approved regulations, assigned tasks; and reviewed the progress of preparation for election deployment in localities, focusing on contents such as: listing the official list of candidates; developing a plan to organize election campaigns; promoting propaganda, ensuring security and order; preparing facilities at polling stations... and resolving arising difficulties and obstacles.
According to statistics, in the area of 17 wards, communes, and the eastern special zone of Ho Chi Minh City, there are about 480,000 voters, participating in voting in 364 polling areas. This is an area with a large number of voters, in which some areas concentrate many fishermen who regularly go offshore and stick to the sea for many days. Therefore, the work of reviewing and updating voter lists is an important task, which needs to be carried out strictly and closely to reality; proactively grasp the schedule of going offshore and ashore to promptly inform and mobilize voters to participate in the election fully and in accordance with regulations.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tho acknowledged and highly appreciated the serious preparation of localities, requesting localities to continue to strengthen contact, propaganda, and reminders so that voters can clearly understand the time and location to participate in voting.
At the same time, create the most favorable conditions for voters to exercise their rights and obligations as citizens; promote propaganda about the election process; prepare well the stages in the voting areas according to regulations.
