In July, the construction atmosphere at Kien Quoc Martyrs' Cemetery (new), Khuc Thua Du commune, Hai Phong city took place urgently.
Each item is gradually being completed, aiming to build a solemn memorial space, meeting the needs of caring for and expressing gratitude to heroic martyrs and educating revolutionary traditions for generations.
The project was started in early 2026 with a total investment of more than 12.4 billion VND, built on an area of more than 4,841m2, with a scale of 236 martyrs' graves. The project is invested from the commune budget, top-level budget support and other legally mobilized capital sources.
According to the design, the cemetery includes the main gate, memorial tower, martyrs' grave area, ceremony yard, internal traffic system, fence, technical infrastructure, green trees and auxiliary items, ensuring harmony between architecture, landscape and spiritual space.
Immediately after deployment, the Party Committee and People's Committee of Khuc Thua Du commune regularly inspected the site, urged progress, promptly removed difficulties, and requested construction units to mobilize human resources and vehicles, ensuring quality, technique and labor safety. Up to now, the project has completed over 50% of the construction volume, and many items are entering the completion phase.
In early July 2026, the locality completed the relocation of 66 martyrs' graves from the old Kien Quoc Martyrs' Cemetery to the new tomb area that has been completed in the first phase of the project.
Previously, the locality organized a solemn incense offering and requiem ceremony and coordinated to take DNA biological samples for the graves according to plan, serving the work of identifying martyrs.
Expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2026, Kien Quoc Martyrs' Cemetery will be a place to gather, care for, and commemorate heroic martyrs, and at the same time become a "red address" for revolutionary tradition education, contributing to preserving the morality of "When drinking water, remember the source" and meeting the aspirations of cadres, party members, and people for a solemn memorial space, worthy of the sacrifices of previous generations.
