In the 2022-2023 school year, Mr. Nguyen The Ky (HCMC) was assigned to concurrently hold the position of Team Head, because the school does not have a Music teacher, so the principal often assigns me to be in charge of cultural activities.
Mr. Ky asked, can your case be converted to standard teaching hours?
The Ministry of Education and Training responds to this issue as follows:
According to Article 3 of Circular No. 27/2017/TT-BGDDT, teachers who are the Head of the Team must perform the task of advising principals on issues related to the professional field, team work and children's movement within the school; plan, organize and manage activities for team members and students in the school according to the plan of the Education sector, team work programs and children's movements of the Team Councils at all levels.
Therefore, the Ministry of Education and Training recommends that Mr. Nguyen The Ky report to the management agency to determine whether the responsibility for cultural activities is the responsibility of teachers as the General Head of the Team or not.
In case the teacher who is the Head of the Team is eligible for a reduction in the teaching period for the task of being in charge of artistic work, it shall be implemented according to the provisions of Clause 4, Article 8 of Circular No. 28/2009/TT-BGDDT dated October 21, 2009 of the Minister of Education and Training stipulating the working regime for general education teachers, specifically: teachers concurrently in charge of artistic work shall be reduced by 2-3 periods/week depending on the workload and shall be decided by the principal.
