Maintain channels for exchange, cooperation, and experience sharing
The Vietnam Fatherland Front and member organizations have closely followed the Party's guidelines and policies, deployed diverse and effective people-to-people diplomacy activities, contributing to consolidating cooperative and friendly relations with neighboring countries, ASEAN, the Asia-Pacific region and traditional friends.
Exchange channels, cooperation, and experience sharing are maintained at many levels through delegation exchanges, conferences, seminars, joint communications, staff training and humanitarian and charitable programs in border areas.
The Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front continues to consolidate relations with corresponding organizations of Cuba, Russia, North Korea, Belarus; and expand cooperation with people's organizations in Korea, Japan, Australia, the United States, France and some new regions such as the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America.
Many member organizations of the Front have effectively organized people-to-people exchange activities, contributing to the success of Party foreign affairs and State diplomacy. Typically, the Vietnam Red Cross Society called for support for the Cuban people of nearly 657 billion VND, more than 10 times the initial target.
In border localities, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and member organizations maintain exchanges, visits, signings, and organize conferences and seminars with international partners; and give gifts to people in border areas, mobilize people to build a border of peace, friendship, cooperation and participate in preventing and combating illegal entry and exit violations.
Member organizations of the Vietnam Fatherland Front actively participate in regional and international multilateral mechanisms, people's forums, labor conferences, activities within the ASEAN, United Nations and global people's organizations. Thereby, strengthening experience sharing, connecting cooperation, and seeking international support for national and ethnic interests.
The Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front also promotes relations with diplomatic missions, international organizations, and non-governmental organizations in Vietnam, contributing to mobilizing financial and technical resources for social security, poverty reduction, humanitarian relief, disaster prevention and control, epidemics and environmental protection.
Providing timely information to international friends and overseas Vietnamese
Propaganda and foreign information work is focused on by the Vietnam Fatherland Front and member organizations, in order to promote the image of the country and people of Vietnam, refute false information and protect national and ethnic interests.
Every year, the Front and member organizations publish hundreds of foreign news and articles in Vietnamese and foreign languages; effectively maintain the electronic information portal, website, and fanpage to promptly transmit information to international friends and overseas Vietnamese.
The work of mobilizing and uniting Vietnamese people abroad has achieved many positive results. Fronts at all levels coordinate to mobilize overseas Vietnamese to unite, participate in building the country, preserve national cultural identity, support each other to integrate in the host country and act as a bridge to promote friendly and cooperative relations between Vietnam and other countries.
Connecting and gathering experts and intellectuals who are overseas Vietnamese to participate in consulting councils; inviting overseas Vietnamese businessmen to return to the country to invest in socio-economic development projects... is increasingly being emphasized.
Promoting the role and responsibility of the members who are overseas Vietnamese, reputable individuals in gathering and uniting the Vietnamese community in the host country, making important contributions to the work of building and firmly consolidating the great national unity bloc.
The Vietnam Fatherland Front regularly coordinates with functional agencies to support Vietnamese people abroad; annually organizes to welcome typical overseas Vietnamese to visit their homeland on holidays, Tet, important events; visit Truong Sa and revolutionary historical sites.
The Front also identified participating in building and supervising the implementation of policies and laws related to overseas Vietnamese, protecting the legitimate rights and interests of overseas Vietnamese as a key task. The work of commending and honoring typical overseas Vietnamese collectives and individuals is carried out promptly, contributing to encouraging overseas Vietnamese to participate in patriotic emulation movements.
