On July 9, the Executive Committee of the Hue City Women's Union (VWU) XVII term, term 2025 - 2030, held a conference to elect additional Executive Committee, Standing Committee and Chairman of the City Women's Union; and at the same time summarize the work of the Union and the women's movement in the first 6 months of 2026.
With the trust of the Executive Committee, Ms. Duong Thi Thu Thuy - former Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairwoman of the People's Council of An Cuu ward - was elected to hold the position of Chairwoman of the Hue City Women's Union, term XVII, term 2025 - 2030.
The consolidation of the title of Chairman of Hue City Women's Union aims to meet the requirements of leadership and direction of the Union's activities in the new period; continue to build a strong Union organization, promote the role of women in socio-economic development, build happy families and participate in building the political system in the locality.
Speaking to receive the assignment, Ms. Duong Thi Thu Thuy expressed her honor to be trusted with a new responsibility; and affirmed that she will work with the Executive Committee and the Standing Committee of the Hue City Women's Union to promote the spirit of solidarity, innovation, creativity, and improve the quality of the Union's activities in the coming time.
According to the report at the conference, in the first 6 months of 2026, Hue City Women's Union levels implemented many practical activities, achieving many positive results. Notable are the emulation movements "Building Vietnamese women in the new era", "Hue women accompany digital transformation - building a green, smart, and unique city" and many activities to support union members in economic development and building happy families.
