On the afternoon of September 29, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, member of the Party Central Committee, Vice President - General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF), Chairwoman of the Council chaired the Final Round of the 5th Anti-Corruption, Wastefulness and Negativity Press Award, 2024 - 2025.
Co-chaired by Mr. Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, co-chair of the Final Round Council; Ms. Ha Thi Nga, member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Final Round Council; Mr. Do Duc Hoang, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Television, co-chair of the Final Round Council.
Speaking at the meeting, Vice President - General Secretary Nguyen Thi Thu Ha stated that at the Final Council meeting held on September 15, 2025, the members of the Final Council focused on exchanging, discussing and reaching high consensus on the contents related to the methods, criteria for marking and classifying works in the Final Round.
Regarding the structure and number of prizes for the works participating in this year's prize categories, based on the results, the Preliminary Council selected 91 typical works in 4 categories: print newspaper, electronic newspaper, television, radio to the final round.
Vice President - General Secretary Nguyen Thi Thu Ha suggested that, based on the voting results, the Final Round Council should discuss, review, evaluate, classify and agree to select works worthy of being honored at the 5th National Defense Press Awards, Anti-Corruption, Wastefulness and Negativity, 2024-2025.
According to the Final Round Council, this year's Award has the participation of many central and local press agencies. In addition to focusing on reflecting on the topic of preventing and combating corruption and negativity, press works also focus on propaganda, reflecting the practice of thrift and combating waste in the whole society, criticizing and strongly condemning wasteful behavior; propagating the results of the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity both in the State and non-State sectors.
Some works were invested in and exhibited in the form of Mega Story such as: "Anti-land waste - Streamlining the apparatus"; "An urgent revolution for the country to rise up" by VietnamPlus Electronic Newspaper, Vietnam News Agency.
The works of local press agencies are quite good in quality, with deep investment in topics, topics, and methods of expressing rich press works, following the trend of modern journalism.
Reflect and fight against "Forever Responsibility", the working ideology of being moderate, avoiding, pushing, and not daring to do wrong among cadres and party members, especially leaders and managers at all levels; building a culture of integrity, no corruption, waste, and negativity among cadres, party members, civil servants, public employees, and people, as in a series of 5 articles: "Digital integrity"; "Administration for the people" of Dong Nai Newspaper.
Many works have exploited the thematic area related to some current policies and regulations that are still inadequate, incomplete, lack of synchronization, and are easily exploited to commit acts of corruption, waste, and negativity such as a series of 5 articles: "Operating publicly after merging, exploiting effectively or exploiting waste gaps?" of the Electronic Vietnam Architecture Magazine, a series of 5 articles: "Anti-waste in the field of science and technology" of the Audit Electronic Newspaper, a series of 4 articles: "The era of national growth" seen from the "commandar" of preventing and combating waste of the People's Newspaper.
From there, propose and recommend to the Party and State to amend, supplement and perfect policy and legal mechanisms to improve the effectiveness of preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity; prevent corruption, waste and negativity early and remotely.
Many works reflect the role and results of activities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations, the press and the people in participating in the fight against corruption, waste and negativity...
Along with that, the works participating in the award continue to focus on reflecting deeply, strongly and highlighting the determination and determination of the Party, State, Vietnam Fatherland Front, the participation of functional agencies, the active response and participation of all classes of people in the fight against corruption, waste and negativity, and are monitored by the people.
To have a series of elaborate articles, many journalists have not been afraid of difficulties, hardships, and dangers, "committed" to closely following the cases, helping authorities promptly take action, clarify, and strictly handle many organizations and individuals with corrupt, wasteful, and negative behavior; and have been approved, supported, and highly appreciated by the people.
There have been many works written on the topic of preventing and combating waste; on the issue of taking advantage of policies to commit corruption, negative phenomena in society such as a series of 3 articles: " Belgian Veterans Resistently Fighting "Invasionists" in the Vietnam Veterans Newspaper.
After a period of discussion, the Council members agreed to select outstanding works to be honored at the 5th National Defense, Anti-Corruption, Wastefulness and Negative Journalism Awards Ceremony, 2024-2025, taking place at the end of October 2025 at the Vietnam - Soviet Friendship Labor Cultural Palace, Hanoi City and broadcast live on VTV1 channel, Vietnam Television.
