1. The First Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (term 1977 - 1983)
The Congress met from January 31 to February 4,77 at the Unity Hall, Ho Chi Minh City, merging 3 organizations: Vietnam Fatherland Front, National Liberation Front of South Vietnam, Alliance of Ethnic Forces, Democracy and Peace of Vietnam, named the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

The Congress consulted and introduced 191 members to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. The Presidium consists of 45 members, the Secretariat consists of 7 members. The honorary president is President Ton Duc Thang; the president is comrade Hoang Quoc Viet.
2. The 2nd Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (term 1983 - 1988)
The Congress met from May 12 to May 14, 1983 at Ba Dinh Hall, Hanoi. The action program of the Congress is to orient all activities of the Front towards practicalism, towards the grassroots, towards residential areas. The Congress elected the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term II, consisting of 184 members, the Presidium of 45 members, and the Secretariat of 8 members.

3. The 3rd Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (term 1988 - 1994)
The Congress met from November 2 to November 4, 1988 at Ba Dinh Hall, Hanoi. This is a Congress to commend the great force of the entire people united in carrying out the renovation process. The Congress elected the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term III, consisting of 166 members, a Presidium of 30 members, and a Secretariat of 6 members.
Honorary Chairman - Comrade Hoang Quoc Viet; Chairman - Lawyer Nguyen Huu Tho; Vice Chairman - Lawyer Phan Anh; Vice Chairman and General Secretary - Mr. Pham Van Kiet.

The 3rd Congress (term 1988 - 1994) is the Congress to strengthen and innovate the work of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, bringing the work of the Front and the organization of the Front to the level of political tasks. This is a Congress to commend the great force of the entire people united in carrying out the renovation work initiated and led by the Party.
4. The 4th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (term 1994 - 1999)
The Congress met from August 17 to August 19, 1994 at Ba Dinh Hall, Hanoi. The Congress was attended by more than 600 delegates. The Congress has elected the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for the 4th term, consisting of: 206 members. Of which, the Presidium consists of 40 members, the Standing Committee of the Presidium consists of 7 members.
Honorary Chairman - Comrade Nguyen Huu Tho; Chairman - Comrade Le Quang Dao; General Secretary - Mr. Tran Van Dang.

The 4th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front marked a new step in development in strengthening and expanding the great national unity bloc and innovating the content and methods of operation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front according to the viewpoints and guidelines of the Ministry of National Construction in the transitional period to socialism in 1991, concretized by Resolution No. 07-NQ/TW dated November 17, 1993 of the Politburo on great national unity and strengthening the Unity of the Ethnic Front.

The Congress sent the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term V, consisting of 253 members, the Presidium of 45 members; the Standing Committee of 9 members; Chairman - Comrade Pham The Duyet; General Secretary - Mr. Tran Van Dang.

The Congress set out tasks and action programs with the following tasks: Continuing to strengthen the great national unity bloc, consolidate, expand the organization and improving the quality of activities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, actively and proactively create, gather all classes of people more and more widely, promote patriotism, the will to self-reliance and the right to master the people, maintain social discipline and stability, mobilize maximum resources to invest in socio-economic development, carry out industrialization and modernization of the country, promote the construction and protection of the Fatherland, play a good role as the political foundation of the people's government, a solid bridge between the people and the Party and the State.
6. The 6th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (term 2004 - 2009)
The Congress met from September 21 to September 23, 2004 at Ba Dinh Hall, Hanoi. The Congress was attended by 878 delegates, the Congress: "Promoting the strength of the Great National Unity to enhance the role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in promoting the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country, for the goal of a strong people, fair society, democracy and civilization".
The Congress elected the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term VI, consisting of 320 members, the Presidium of 52 members, the Standing Committee of 8 members; Comrade Mr. Pham The Duyet as Chairman; Vice Chairman and General Secretary - Mr. Huynh Dam.

The 5th Conference of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term VI, held in Hanoi (January 2008), agreed to elect the positions of Chairman and Vice Chairman and General Secretary: Chairman - Comrade Huynh Dam (replacing Comrade Pham The Duyet to retire under the regime); Vice Chairman and General Secretary - Mr. Vu Trong Kim.
The Congress sets out a general policy: "Widespread solidarity, unity of all members of society can be united, regardless of past past, class, ethnicity, religion, domestic or foreign, close solidarity, sincere solidarity, solidarity on the basis of the common goal: Maintain independence and unity, for "rich people, strong country, fair society, democracy, civilization"; unity between our people and people of countries around the world, combine national strength with the strength of the times, promote the strength of great national unity to become the main driving force to build and firmly protect the Fatherland. That is a heavy but glorious historical task of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, of member organizations and of all Vietnamese patriots and loyalists in the new period.
7. The 7th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (term 2009 - 2014)
The Congress will meet from September 28 to September 30, 2009 at the My Dinh National Convention Center, Hanoi. The Congress was attended by 1,300 delegates, including 989 official delegates and 311 invited delegates.
The theme of the Congress is: "Enhancing the role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, promoting democracy, enhancing social consensus, building the great national unity bloc for a rich people, strong country, fair, democratic and civilized society".

The Congress elected the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term VII, consisting of 355 members, the Presidium of 58 members, the Standing Committee of 9 members; Chairman - Mr. Huynh Dam; Vice Chairman and General Secretary - Mr. Vu Trong Kim.
The 6th conference of the 7th Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in Hanoi (September 5, 2013) agreed to appoint Mr. Nguyen Thien Nhan as Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to replace Mr. Huynh Dam on retirement under the regime.
The Congress set the goal: "Enhancing the role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, continuing to promote the tradition of patriotism, national pride, self-reliance and self-strengthening will; promoting democracy, strengthening social consensus and solidarity of all Vietnamese people at home and abroad, creating a great strength of the great national unity bloc, contributing to the successful implementation of the Decree on national construction in the period of transition to socialism, the Socio-Economic Development Strategy and the Resolution of the 10th and 11th National Party Congress; maintaining independence, unity and territorial integrity for the goal of "rich people, strong country, fair society, democracy and civilization".
8. The 8th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (term 2014 - 2019)
The Congress will meet from September 25 to 27, 2014 at the My Dinh National Convention Center, Hanoi. The Congress was attended by 1,008 official delegates. The theme of the Congress was: "Promoting the strength of great national unity, building and defending the Fatherland in the new situation, for a rich people, a strong country, democracy, fairness and civilization".
The Congress elected the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term VIII, consisting of 383 members, the Presidium of 62 members, and the Standing Committee of 6 members. Chairman - Comrade Nguyen Thien Nhan; Vice Chairman, General Secretary - Comrade Vu Trong Kim.
The 5th Conference of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (8th tenure) held in Hanoi (April 14, 2016) unanimously elected Comrade Tran Thanh Man, member of the Party Central Committee, as Vice Chairman - General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, 8th tenure, to replace Mr. Vu Trong Kim to retire according to the regime.

The 7th Conference of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (8th tenure) held in Hanoi (June 22, 2017) unanimously elected Mr. Tran Thanh Man as Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to replace Mr. Nguyen Thien Nhan.
The 8th Conference of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (8th tenure) held in Ho Chi Minh City (January 5, 2018) elected Mr. Hau A Lenh as Vice Chairman - General Secretary to replace Mr. Tran Thanh Man as Chairman.
The Congress sets out the following action goals: "Focus on strongly innovating the content and methods of activities, improving the effectiveness of propaganda, mobilization, gathering of all classes of people, promoting the strength of great national unity, performing well the function of representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of the people, enhancing social consensus, promoting democracy, implementing supervision and social criticism, actively participating in building a strong Party and government, contributing to sustainable socio-economic development, accelerating the cause of industrialization, modernization, building new rural areas, civilized urban areas, maintaining peace, firmly protecting the Fatherland, for the rich people, strong country, democracy, fairness, civilization and happiness of the people".
9. The 9th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (term 2019 - 2024)
The 9th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term 2019 - 2024, was solemnly held from September 18 to 20, 2019 in Hanoi. The Congress was attended by 975 official delegates representing all classes of people in the country and overseas Vietnamese; more than 200 invited delegates.
The 9th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front with the theme: "Promoting the strength of great national unity, improving the quality and effectiveness of the activities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, for a rich people, strong country, democracy, fairness and civilization".
The Congress agreed that the number of members of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term IX, 2019 - 2024, including 385 members and the results of the elections at the Congress were 374 members.
At the first conference of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term IX, 2019 - 2024, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term IX, unanimously elected the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term IX, with 62 members. The conference also discussed the election of the Chairman, full-time and non-professional Vice Chairmen of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term IX.

Mr. Tran Thanh Man, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term VIII, was re-elected to hold the position of Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term IX.
The 4th Conference of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (9th tenure) held in Hanoi (April 12, 2021) agreed to elect Mr. Do Van Chien as Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to replace Mr. Tran Thanh Man.
Based on the rights and responsibilities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front stipulated in the Law on the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and based on the situation and tasks of the country, the 9th Congress set the goal of: Continuing to strongly innovate the content and methods of operation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; strengthening the political alliance, building and firmly consolidating the great national unity bloc; representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of the people; implementing democracy, supervision and social criticism, fighting against corruption and waste, practicing thrift, participating in building a clean and strong Party and government; strengthening social consensus, promoting the spirit of creative emulation, developing the socio-economy, promoting the industrial, modern and international integration, firmly protecting the people's rights and interests, protecting the people's rights, the people's rights, the country's social security, the country's social security, the country's social security, and the country's social security, strengthening the country's social security, strengthening the country's social security, strengthening the country's social security, and the country's social security.

The theme of the Congress: "Solidarity - Democracy - Innovation - Creativity - Development".

The Congress elected 397 members to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term X, 2024 - 2029. The first conference of the 10th Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front democratically elected 67 members to join the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. Mr. Do Van Chien, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for the 9th term, 2019 - 2024, will continue to be highly trusted and elected to hold the position of Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for the 10th term, 2024 - 2029; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, member of the Party Central Committee, was elected to hold the position of Vice Chairman - General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
At the 5th Conference of the 10th tenure, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front on November 7, 2025 agreed to consult and appoint Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Party Committee, Central organizations to participate in the Central Committee, Presidium, Standing Committee and hold the position of Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term X, 2024 - 2029, to replace Mr. Do Van Chien appointed and transferred by the Politburo to take on other work.
11. National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for the 2026-2031 term
According to Project No. 02/DA-MTTW-UB on organizing the National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for the 2026-2031 term. The Congress will include the following contents and activities: Discussing and approving the Political Report of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Action Program of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for the 2026-2031 term, review report of the Central Committee, Presidium, Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; considering amending and supplementing the Charter of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
In addition, the Congress will consult on democratic conduct to send to the Central Committee, the Presidium, and the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for the 2026-2031 term; organize the launching of a patriotic emulation movement, call on the entire people to unite, promote patriotism, civil responsibility, and actively respond to emulation movements to build and defend the Fatherland in the new situation; pass the Congress Resolution.
The number of official delegates attending the Congress is expected to be equivalent to the 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for the 2024-2029 term, which is about 1,000 delegates. Delegates attending the Congress must be exemplary in quality, capacity, prestige, intelligence, and enthusiasm; ensuring representation of all classes of people and administrative units after the reorganization.
The Congress will take place solemnly at the National Convention Center (Hanoi City) for no more than two days and will be completed in May 2026.
