The National Foreign Information Award (abbreviated: Foreign Information Award) is an award launched by the Central Steering Committee for Foreign Information Work, the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission (the standing agency of the Central Steering Committee for Foreign Information Work) in charge, in coordination with relevant agencies and units: Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, Nhan Dan Newspaper, Vietnam News Agency, Vietnam Television, Voice of Vietnam Radio, Vietnam Journalists Association, Vietnam Publishing Association... organized. The award is awarded to authors and groups of authors with excellent and typical foreign information works and products.
Purpose, meaning of the Award
1. Affirming that foreign information is an important part of the political and ideological work and foreign affairs of the Party, state diplomacy, and people-to-people diplomacy; it is a regular and long-term task of the entire political system under the leadership of the Party.
2. Contributing to protecting the ideological foundation of the Party; effectively implementing the Party and State's guidelines, policies on foreign information.
3. Honor and encourage authors and groups of authors with excellent works/products in the field of foreign information.
4. Create motivation for collectives and individuals to actively participate in innovation and improve the quality of propaganda and foreign information work; strengthen the connection between agencies, units, and localities, maximize the proactiveness and dynamism of forces. From there, promote the overall strength of the entire political system, the active participation of the people, Vietnamese compatriots abroad and international friends.
Awards categories
Awards are awarded to foreign information works/products in the categories: (1) Vietnamese-language newspapers/magazines; (2) Foreign language newspapers/magazines; (3) Radio; (4) Television; (5) Books; (6) Photos; (7) Digital - multimedia products; (8) Initiatives, products with foreign information value.
Conditions for participating in the Award
1. Works/products, activities, and events considered for the Award in the year are works/products published, published, distributed, and announced in the mass media; or activities and events organized at home and abroad, in the period from July 1, 2025 to the end of July 31, 2026. For works/products published before or after the above times, 2/3 of the duration and number of works/products must be announced within the prescribed time.
2. Works/products that have been awarded prizes at other competitions are still entitled to participate in the award consideration, but must clearly state the level of prize achieved, along with information about the organizing unit, and the time of the competition.
3. Works/products participating in the Award do not infringe copyright and there is no copyright dispute.
4.Works/products not eligible to participate in the Award include: a series of journalistic works compiled from independent works of authors in their own names at different times of publication, without continuity of the series of articles; works/products waiting for appraisal opinions from functional agencies; composite photos, photos edited to change the information content of the original photo; violating the provisions of the Law on Intellectual Property and other legal regulations.
Award structure
The award is awarded to works/products in the categories: (1) Vietnamese newspaper/magazine; (2) Foreign language newspaper/magazine; (3) Radio; (4) Television; (5) Books; (6) Photos; (7) Digital - multimedia products; (8) Initiatives, products with foreign information value.
- Prize structure: 01 Special Prize (common for all categories); 01 First Prize, 02 Second Prizes, 03 Third Prizes and 05 Consolation Prizes for each category.
- The Award Council can decide on other forms of commendation for participating and actively contributing collectives/individuals (with specific criteria for selection).
- The number of Prizes will be decided by the Award Council according to the actual quality and quantity of entries/products.
Prize value:
Special prize: 50,000,000 VND (Fivety million VND)
First prize: 30,000,000 VND (THIRTY million VND)
Second prize: 20,000,000 VND (Twenty million VND)
Third prize: 15,000,000 VND (Fifteen million VND)
Consolation prize: 10,000,000 VND (Ten million VND)
