On May 16, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) of Kim Long commune coordinated with the Commune People's Committee to organize the launching ceremony of "Tet tree planting, forever remembering Uncle Ho" associated with the "City of Colorful Flowers" movement and launched the construction of green - clean - beautiful landscapes in 2026.
Taking place at the Long Chao Kim Long Victory Memorial Stele, the launching ceremony was attended by leaders of the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Kim Long commune, along with a large number of officials, civil servants, representatives of units, forces and people in the area.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Son - Vice Chairman of Kim Long Commune People's Committee - emphasized the profound meaning of planting trees and protecting the landscape. To deepen the movement and create a large spillover effect, Kim Long commune called on 18 hamlets and agencies and units to participate and respond with specific actions.
In which, each unit and residential area will register to implement at least one greening project/part; simultaneously deploy a waste sorting model at source; focus on building model flower streets... The organizing committee will evaluate, commend and award prizes to collectives with outstanding achievements in environmental protection in November 2026.
Immediately after the launching ceremony, delegates and a large number of people participating proceeded to plant 2 crape myrtle trees, 4 yellow bell trees and about 300 sunflower trees; greening the lawns in the campus area of the Long Chao Kim Long Victory Memorial Stele.
Through the program, it also contributes to enhancing the landscape of the relic site to be more solemn, clean and beautiful; educating the revolutionary tradition "When drinking water, remember the source"; and at the same time raising awareness and responsibility of each citizen in joining hands to build Kim Long commune to be increasingly green, clean, beautiful, civilized and sustainable.
