Attending the meeting were leaders of the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, officials of Vietnamese representative agencies and about 20 delegates representing Vietnamese associations, including the Vietnamese Association in Japan, the Buddhist Association, the Intellectuals Association, the Business Association, the Youth and Student Association, the Vietnam - Japan International Exchange Organization and a number of other organizations and community associations.
Speaking at the working session, Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Pham Quang Hieu informed the working delegation about the local situation and work for the Vietnamese community. According to the Ambassador, the Vietnamese community in Japan is mostly young people, but has made very practical contributions to Vietnam-Japan bilateral relations, always looking towards their homeland.
Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu said that in working sessions with the Vietnamese Embassy, local leaders highly appreciated the important contributions of the Vietnamese community to Japanese society as well as contributing to promoting exchanges between the two nations.
Representatives of associations said that the community currently has more than 700,000 Vietnamese people living, working and studying in Japan. Community organizations and Vietnamese associations have developed rapidly and strongly, almost covering localities across Japan. Delegates expressed their thanks for the concern, assistance and facilitation of the Party, State, Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Embassy for community work.
Representatives of the Vietnamese community in Japan always aim for community solidarity, building the image of Vietnamese people in Japan to become stronger and contribute more positively to Japan as well as supporting each other in integration and compliance with local laws, promoting the image and culture of Vietnam with Japan. With that spirit, delegates contributed a number of recommendations and solutions to improve the effectiveness of Vietnamese people in Japan in particular and abroad in general.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Hoang Cong Thuy informed representatives of the community about some developments, the situation in the country and the country's development orientation; and acknowledged the contributions and praised the contributions of the Vietnamese community in Japan to the development of Vietnam-Japan relations.
The Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front expressed his wish that overseas Vietnamese will preserve national historical and cultural traditions, language, actively promote the image of the country and people of Vietnam and contribute resources to building the country in the new era. He affirmed that the Vietnam Fatherland Front will continue to coordinate with the Embassy and relevant agencies to organize connection events to strengthen national solidarity, community solidarity, and at the same time mobilize intellectuals, technology, and resources to serve the development of the country.
On this occasion, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Hoang Cong Thuy presented gifts to organizations and associations that have made important contributions to the Vietnamese community in Japan.
