On August 9, the Women's Union of Dien Bien province visited, encouraged, and supported women and children affected by flash floods and landslides in Phinh Giang commune.
Here, the delegation presented 37 gifts from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union, including dishwashing water, milk, etc.
Along with that, 50 gifts were presented by the Provincial Women's Union worth 100 million VND (water containers, blankets, tarpaulins, rice, clothes, household items for pregnant women, books for children...) with the support of journalist Hoang Truong Giang (People's Army Newspaper), the Women's Police Committee, the Women's Union of the Military Command, the Women's Committee of the Provincial Border Guard Command, the Provincial Women's Club, and women's union members of Dien Bien Phu Ward.
The Women's Union of Dien Bien province said that the activity is to share, encourage, and accompany the difficulties and losses of members, women, and children affected by natural disasters in Huoi Co village, Phinh Giang commune to overcome difficulties and soon stabilize their lives.
According to statistics, in Phinh Giang commune, 85 houses were damaged (all 4 houses were completely damaged by floodwaters, 27 houses were flooded, 60 houses were at risk and needed to be relocated).
In recent days, floods and landslides in the North Central and Northern mountainous provinces have killed and left many people missing, houses, schools and maple blossoms were swept away and submerged in mud, affecting local production activities.
