A home that nurtures faith
In the early days of the new year, when the colors of spring are bustling on every street and hamlet in Vinh Long, joy is evident on the faces of many poor households during the Binh Ngo Tet days. According to local people, no year has people welcomed spring in such an excited mood.
This spring comes to them not only because of the transitional season, but also because the dream of a solid house has come true. A household said: "Having a new house to celebrate Binh Ngo Tet, we are assured to do business", the joy is clearly shown in each word.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Thu (resident of Tong Hung B hamlet, Ngai Tu commune) said that for many years her family has lived in a degraded leaf house, leaking in rain and wind. No land for production, precarious income from hired work has caused many difficulties for the three mothers and children's lives.
According to Ms. Thu, on heavy rainy days, the whole family has to stay up all night because they are worried about the house collapsing, and the young children also have no place to study properly. Having a solid home, she said life is like changing a new page.
The house was built with a total cost of 120 million VND, of which philanthropists supported 70 million VND, and the rest was contributed by family and relatives. "This Tet, my mother and I will live in a new house, my heart is much lighter. I believe the new year will be better," Ms. Thu said emotionally.

Continuing the joy from the newly completed homes, in Bang Chang hamlet, Tra On commune, Mr. Duong Van Tung said that in the past his family lived in a cramped temporary house, with income mainly from precarious hired work. His wife suffered from depression, so the family's economy became even more difficult, short of money.
According to Mr. Tung, having a new house with an area of 40m2, with a total cost of 80 million VND supported by philanthropists, is a great motivation for the family to overcome difficulties. "Having a solid roof in the middle of this spring, I will try to work harder to take care of my wife and children," he added.
The houses completed before the New Year have brought spring closer to difficult families. According to local authorities, when people settle down, faith and motivation to rise up in the new year are also solidly built.
Spreading the affection of settlement
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuan Thanh - Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vinh Long province - said that in 2025, the movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses was implemented drastically, receiving the joint efforts of the entire political system, businesses and philanthropists.
The whole province has supported 14,738 houses, including 11,604 newly built houses and 3,134 repaired houses, with a total budget of over 894 billion VND and nearly 48,000 working days. Each completed house is an established residence address, and a difficult situation is supported.

Completing housing right in the year helps many households stabilize their accommodation before the Binh Ngo Tet 2026. When people have a solid home, they have more faith and motivation to rise up in the new year," Ms. Thanh emphasized.
From the new roofs, the colors of spring spread throughout the villages. That is the spring of sharing, of warm human love and of nurtured faith.
In the brilliant lights of the newly completed houses, a new year is opening up with many hopes – where families who once faced difficulties have a solid foundation to start a new journey, confident and full of excitement.
