On July 27, the Central Working Group of the Vietnam Women's Union (VWA) led by Party Central Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, President of the Vietnam Women's Union Nguyen Thi Tuyen organized an incense offering, visiting and giving gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, people with meritorious services to the revolution, and policy families in Gia Lai province on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs' Day.
Attending the program were: Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Luong, Standing Deputy Secretary, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Gia Lai province; representatives of the leaders of the Bank for Social Policies; representatives of the leaders of the Women's Affairs Committee, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union; Department of Home Affairs, the Women's Union of Gia Lai province and leaders of Quy Nhon ward.
In a solemn atmosphere, President of the Vietnam Women's Union Nguyen Thi Tuyen and the delegates respectfully offered flowers in front of the Nguyen Sinh Sac Monument - Nguyen Tat Thanh, expressing the memory and gratitude of members and women nationwide for the great contributions of President Ho Chi Minh and his great cities.
Immediately after the flower offering ceremony, the working delegation of the Vietnam Women's Union offered incense at the Quy Nhon Ward Martyrs' Cemetery. With all their respect and deep gratitude, President of the Vietnam Women's Union Nguyen Thi Tuyen and the delegates observed a moment of silence for the revolutionary predecessors and heroic martyrs who have made great contributions, sacrificed blood and bones for the independence and freedom of the nation and the happiness of the people. Here, delegates came to burn incense at the graves to commemorate and pay tribute to the heroic martyrs.
On this occasion, the delegation visited and presented gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mother Le Thi Khuong and Vietnamese Heroic Mother Le Thi Cam; and visited and presented gifts at the Gia Lai Province Caring for and Nursing Center for Meritorious People.
President of the Vietnam Women's Union Nguyen Thi Tuyen, on behalf of members and women nationwide, sent to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers warm regards, deep gratitude and best wishes for health. For the war invalids and sick soldiers being treated at the Center, President Nguyen Thi Tuyen expressed her gratitude and visited them for sacrificing part of their blood and bones in the wars for independence for the country.
Speaking to war invalids and sick soldiers, President of the Vietnam Women's Union Nguyen Thi Tuyen said that with deep affection and responsibility towards meritorious people, from 2020 to now, the Associations at all levels across the country have donated more than 755 billion VND to repair, build "Warm Shelter of Love" and support policy families; organized visits, presented gifts, supported policy families, families with meritorious services, Mothers of martyrs, Heroic Vietnamese Mothers, with a total value of over 400 billion VND.
In 2025, the Vietnam Women's Union directed the Women's Union of provinces, cities, and units to organize propaganda activities to celebrate the 78th anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs' Day; organize a series of activities to support and offer incense at the Martyrs' Cemetery, visit and give gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, relatives of martyrs, and meritorious people in 5 provinces/cities (Hanoi, Tuyen Quang, Quang Tri, Gia Lai and Ca Mau) with a total value of more than 300 million VND.
Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Tuyen also acknowledged and respectfully thanked the dedication and responsibility of the staff and employees of the Gia Lai Province Meritorious Care and Nursing Center for the good performance of caring for and nursing meritorious people - a meaningful act of humanity, contributing to spreading the good traditions and sacred morality of the nation.
On this occasion, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union presented gifts to 30 families of war invalids, martyrs, and meritorious people. Although the gifts are small in material aspects, they contain deep affection from cadres, members, and women across the country.
In the coming time, the Vietnam Women's Union will continue to promote its pioneering role in caring for military rear policies, connecting and spreading love to those who have contributed to the country. President of the Vietnam Women's Union Nguyen Thi Tuyen hopes that Party committees at all levels, authorities and the Fatherland Front, local mass organizations and philanthropic organizations and individuals will continue to pay attention and accompany to more effectively carry out gratitude activities, fully demonstrating the morality of "When drinking water, remember its source" - the fine tradition of the nation.
