Bravery, aspiration to contribute and innovative thinking are helping young people create different values in the digital age.

Aspiration for dedication

Growing up in the mountains and forests, Y Viet Sa - Deputy Secretary of Quang Ngai Provincial Youth Union understands better than anyone the barriers that young people in ethnic minority areas face on their journey to study and start a career. It was the years of overcoming difficulties that nurtured in her bravery, aspiration to rise up and hoped that each young person in her homeland would confidently change their lives with knowledge and youthfulness.

As a Youth Union official in the new era, Ms. Sa clearly understands that union members must possess both bravery, intelligence and modern knowledge. With the sharp thinking of young people, she has turned cyberspace into an online bridge, connecting and promoting homeland products.

To preserve cultural identity, preserve customs and traditional costumes, in my opinion, it is necessary to choose practical solutions, associated with the lives of young people. We coordinate to organize training classes, guide young people to promote products, develop community tourism so that young people themselves become the subjects of preserving and spreading the cultural values of their homeland" - Ms. Y Viet Sa shared.

For many people, digital transformation is associated with artificial intelligence, big data or smart utilities of modern life. But for young people in ethnic minority areas in Quang Ngai, that journey sometimes starts from a very simple aspiration: to bring the sound of instruments, flutes, traditional costumes and cultural values of our ancestors into the digital space to be preserved and spread.

Quang Ngai has a large area, stretching from mountainous to coastal areas. Infrastructure conditions and technology access between regions are still very different. Therefore, according to Ms. Sa, digital transformation cannot be applied according to a rigid template but needs solutions suitable for each locality, each group of young people, so that no one is left behind in the development process.

On the one hand, we bring music, musical instruments and traditional costumes into the programs and activities of the Youth Union and Association to arouse pride in national identity. On the other hand, we take advantage of digital platforms to introduce and promote the cultural values of our compatriots to the general public" - Ms. Y Viet Sa shared.

Technology can change the way people connect, but it is young people who will decide how tradition is preserved and spread. That is also the journey that Youth Union officials like Y Viet Sa are persistently pursuing.

Pioneering bravery

Born and raised in Phuc Trach homeland (Ha Tinh), where agarwood has become part of childhood memories, Nguyen Thi Thuy Dung - a member of the Ha Tinh Provincial Youth Union is always concerned when many people are still struggling with traditional sales methods. Mentioning Phuc Trach, many people immediately remember the famous grapefruit specialty, but few people know that this land also owns vast agarwood forests, supplying a large amount of raw agarwood to the market every year. A resource with great potential but has not been properly exploited for many years.

Leaving the city to return to her hometown to develop, Thuy Dung faced many difficulties. The biggest challenge is not in technology, but in shaking the selling mindset rooted in generations of people. To convince people to accept the online business model is a persistent battle. Because, farmers here are already familiar with manual production, monotonous designs and small-scale sales.

In the early days, I encountered many difficulties. On digital platforms, to sell goods, you not only need quality products or competitive prices, but also to tell the cultural story behind each product and persistently build a brand. As a young person, I hope to be able to take advantage of technology to contribute to bringing my hometown craft village closer to domestic and foreign customers" - Thuy Dung shared.

The spirit of "pionage, creativity" is not dry slogans on paper, it is vividly present through each decision of young people like Thuy Dung. Looking back at the journey of bringing Phuc Trach agarwood to reach further in cyberspace, the typical young woman of Ha Tinh land affirmed:

Youth is a precious asset of youth. Therefore, when we are young, let's just dare to think, dare to do, dare to start. Please turn your thoughts into products, turn products into quality products. The most important thing is that we must start. Because when we start, our chances will be greater than 0%. And if you don't start, your chances of success will only be 0% forever".
