More than 3.7 billion VND to support people affected by storms and floods

On the afternoon of December 16, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee - Ho Chi Minh City Relief Mobilization Committee continued to organize a reception to support people to overcome the damage caused by storms and floods.

Mr. Phan Hong An - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the City Relief Mobilization Committee said that up to this point, basically the localities affected by storms and floods in the Northern, North Central and Central regions have gradually stabilized their lives and implemented to overcome the consequences of storms and floods.

The contributions of agencies, units, businesses, organizations and individuals have promptly supported people in the Central and Northern provinces affected by storms and floods, helping to stabilize life and celebrate Tet more warmly. All support sources have been quickly and promptly transferred to localities affected by storms and floods.

At the reception on the afternoon of December 16, the Ho Chi Minh City Relief Mobilization Committee received a total support fund of VND 3,724,801,500, including VND 2,500 boxes worth VND 1 billion, with the participation of many FDI enterprises.

From September 18 to December 13, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee - Ho Chi Minh City Relief Mobilization Committee organized 10 delegations of the City's leaders to visit, encourage and present gifts to people affected by storms and floods in Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Bac Ninh, Cao Bang, Lang Son, Tuyen Quang, Lao Cai, Thai Nguyen, Quang Ngai, Hue City, Da Nang, Khanh Hoa, Dak Lak.

As of December 15, the Ho Chi Minh City Relief Mobilization Committee has received 46,798 donations with the amount of 406,270,367,067 VND. By 8:00 a.m. on December 16, the unit had received 29,000 bags of household medicine and 4,885 tons of essential goods.
