On July 22, in Vinh Linh commune, Quang Tri province, the Military Region 4 Command, Quang Tri Provincial Military Command, the 3rd - Vinh Linh Defense Area Command in coordination with Le Thuy, Gio Linh, Cua Tung, and Vinh Thuy communes held a ceremony to award the Prime Minister's "Fatherland's Merit" Certificate to 9 martyrs from Quang Tri who heroically sacrificed their lives in the resistance war against French colonialism.
The 9 martyrs being posthumously awarded include: Nguyen Mau, Nguyen Duy Hung, Tran Van Thuong, Nguyen Thuan Xay, Dang La, Le Cao Truong, Phan Dinh Do, Dinh Khiem and Nguyen Dang De.
These are the outstanding children of the heroic homeland of Quang Tri, young people in their eighties and twenties, enlisted in the army from the early years of the resistance war, fighting steadfastly in the provincial team, main regiment and local soldiers, carrying in their hearts the ideal "Nothing is more precious than independence and freedom", fighting and sacrificing bravely in the years of fierce resistance against France for national independence.
In a solemn and emotional atmosphere, representatives of Military Region 4, Quang Tri Provincial Military Command presented the Prime Minister's Certificate of "Fatherland's Merit" (according to Decision No. 1380/QD-TTg) to the relatives of the martyrs.

Immediately after the certificate awarding ceremony, delegates and relatives of the martyrs offered flowers and incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs, and observed a minute of silence to commemorate and express gratitude for the great contributions of the martyrs to the Fatherland.
The ceremony to award the Certificate of "Fatherland's gratitude" is a meaningful activity on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1945 - July 27, 2025), demonstrating the nation's morality of "Remembering the source of water when drinking", while reminding today's generation to continue promoting revolutionary traditions, building a rich and civilized homeland and country.
