On July 21, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the working delegation visited and presented gifts to the armed forces of An Giang province and the teams searching for and collecting the remains of martyrs (HCLS) of Military Region 9.
During the meeting with officers and soldiers directly performing the task of searching for HCLS collection of Military Region 9, on behalf of the leaders of the Party and State, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh wished them good health and always to excellently complete the noble sacred tasks assigned by the Party, State, people and army.
The Prime Minister emphasized: Searching for HCLS collection is a major policy of our Party and State, the responsibility of all levels of sectors, local units and the entire political system. This is an act of profound humanitarian significance, expressing gratitude to those who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland and the traditional morality of drinking water reminiscent of its source, paying tribute to the nation's merits.

Currently, 23 HCLS search and gathering teams are performing missions domestically and in the territory of the Lao People's Democratic Republic and the Kingdom of Cambodia. Comrades perform the task in conditions of information about the burial places of martyrs, the number of martyrs' graves is mainly located in remote areas with difficult terrain, harsh climate, and sacred forests with toxic water. There are still bombs and mines in some places, the terrain and terrain have changed, and during the mission, comrades have died, been injured, and suffered from serious illnesses. However, with high political determination and responsibility, the comrades have always been deeply aware of their tasks, ready to accept and overcome all difficulties and hardships to complete the tasks well.
On behalf of the Party and State leaders, the Prime Minister acknowledged and highly appreciated the results achieved in the search and collection of HCLS of Military Region 9, and highly appreciated and commended the officers and soldiers directly on duty.

In the coming time, Party committees, leaders of local agencies and units, and Steering Committee 515 at all levels are the direct forces searching for HCLS collection of Military Region 9, which need to further strengthen leadership and direction, improve the effectiveness of state management of searching for HCLS collection. Synchronously and drastically deploy solutions to improve the effectiveness of search and gathering, promote information, propaganda, and mobilization of domestic and foreign organizations and individuals to strengthen international cooperation in search and gathering, especially collecting and providing information on martyrs and martyrs' graves to serve the search and gathering of martyrs' remains.
All levels need to pay attention to ensuring timely full regimes and policies for forces on duty. Timely commend and reward collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in performing tasks.
"For forces directly performing tasks, it is necessary to always promote a high sense of responsibility to proactively overcome difficulties and complete tasks well. While performing their duties, they also did a good job of mass mobilization, mobilizing and collecting information about martyrs and martyrs' graves. At the same time, strictly implement military diplomacy and people's diplomacy when performing missions in neighboring countries. Participating in the movement to help people fight hunger and reduce poverty and natural disaster prevention and control activities in the country as well as when working abroad, contributing to strongly spreading the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers not only domestically but also to international friends", the Prime Minister emphasized.

Major General Nguyen Minh Trieu - Deputy Commander of Military Region 9 - expressed his deep gratitude for the affection and care of the Prime Minister and members of the working group. This is a great source of encouragement for the armed forces of the military region and officers and soldiers of the HCLS gathering teams.
"In his speech, the Prime Minister pointed out the requirements and tasks that need to continue to be implemented in the coming time, affirming that this is a noble and sacred task full of responsibility of the Party, State and people. On behalf of the Party Committee and the Military Region Command, I would like to seriously absorb and grasp all the valuable instructions of the Prime Minister, especially the 4 key requirements and tasks in the coming time. We will continue to strive to promote the highest sense of responsibility, solidarity and creativity in organizing implementation, concretizing the plan for each stage determined to excellently complete the assigned tasks", Major General Nguyen Minh Trieu affirmed.
From 2001 to present, officers and soldiers of Military Region 9, including Teams K90, K91, K92, K93, have searched for and collected 11,533 HCLS (in Cambodia, 8,188 HCLS, 561 HCLS identified; domestically, 3,345 HCLS, 264 HCLS identified) to hand over to localities across the country for funeral and burial.
