Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross supports people in flooded areas of Nghe An

Nghe An - The Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society has urgently implemented activities to support the people of Nghe An with a total value of 600 million VND.

On October 2, a working group led by Mr. Vu Thanh Luu - Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society - directly visited Quynh Phu commune (Nghe An) to visit, encourage and provide support to the people.

Here, the Central Association presented 100 million VND in cash, of which 10 million VND was to support Ms. Tran Thi Than (Dai Bac village) whose house was completely collapsed; 90 million VND was given to 90 households that suffered heavy livelihood losses, each household 1 million VND.

Along with that, the association has distributed 300 boxes of household goods, 30 boxes of family milk, 200 boxes of P&G water filtration powder and 860 leaflets instructing on the use of water filtration powder to poor, near-poor households and families in difficult circumstances.

Also on the same day, in Nhan Hoa commune, Nghe An Provincial Red Cross Society continued to donate 100 million VND in cash and 270 boxes of milk to households that suffered heavy damage due to floods.

This is part of a series of emergency support activities of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society for people in localities affected by storm No. 10, demonstrating the spirit of sharing and timely companionship to overcome difficulties.

Millions of arms turn to compatriots affected by storms and floods

Consecutive storms 8, 9, 10 and floods caused by the storm have killed many people and left many people missing. Many houses and production and business establishments had their roofs blown off and suffered heavy damage. People across the northern and central mountainous provinces are struggling to cope with floods and heavy losses in human lives and property due to floods and thunderstorms.
