Vinh Thuc commune was established after merging Vinh Thuc and Vinh Trung communes of Mong Cai city, with an area of 49 km2, population of 5,407 people, including 7 villages.
After the merger, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the commune and the front working committees of the villages have actively mobilized people to unite, be unanimous, actively participate in economic development, and convert crop and livestock structure towards goods.
Currently, the total area of planting in the commune is 417.5 hectares; the total herd of cattle and poultry is 28,500.
In 2025, the whole commune will have 1,498 registered households and 1,438 households meeting the cultural family standards; 100% of villages will meet the cultural village standards.

Speaking at the Great Unity Festival of the entire nation of Vinh Thuc commune, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, praised the spirit of solidarity and efforts of cadres, party members and people of Vinh Thuc island commune.
He suggested that the commune continue to strengthen the political system after the arrangement of administrative units; improve the management capacity of the staff; develop a sustainable marine economy, exploit responsibly seafood, promote aquaculture, fisheries logistics services; effectively exploit the potential of eco-tourism of islands; improve income and quality of life of people.
Along with that, the commune needs to pay attention to social security, education, health; resource management, protection of protective forests and marine space; firmly building a national defense posture associated with people's security. Implement digital transformation, apply technology in management, public services, tourism and trade.
On this occasion, the working delegation presented 7 TVs to 7 villages and presented gifts to groups, policy households, and typical families; visited and presented gifts to the soldiers of Vinh Thuc island, the Border Guard Station of Van Gia Port and the Van Gia Port Customs Team.
