These days, in many highland and remote communes of Son La province, the atmosphere of preparation for the election is taking place urgently.
From the commune headquarters to the cultural house, the villages, panels, slogans, voter lists and summary biographies of candidates are publicly posted for people to follow.


The whole province currently has 66 communes in region III, with 2,233 villages and hamlets belonging to ethnic minority areas; of which 1,198 villages and hamlets are particularly difficult.
Therefore, the election preparation work in remote and isolated areas is of particular concern to all levels of government, in order to ensure that all voters have conditions to exercise their citizen rights.
In Chieng Sai commune, there are 5 electoral units for commune People's Council deputies for the 2026–2031 term with 10 polling areas. After the third consultation conference, the commune made a list of 27 candidates for voters to choose to elect 16 commune People's Council deputies.
Along with that, the commune promotes propaganda through the loudspeaker system, Party cell meetings, voter contacts and activities of mass organizations.
The preparation of facilities has also been completed with 10 election teams, each team in charge of a polling area.
Mr. Dinh Van Nganh, Secretary of the Party Cell, Head of Suoi Ngang village (Chieng Sai commune) said that the village has 422 voters. The village management board has propagated and mobilized people to participate in voting fully and in accordance with regulations; and at the same time, guided people to understand the election process.


In 13 highland and border communes, local authorities are also urgently completing preparations for election day. Communes review voter lists, and train election teams on voting and ballot counting procedures.
Mr. Hoang Anh, Secretary of the Party Committee of Phieng Khoai commune, said that the whole commune has more than 8,000 voters. The locality has established 6 electoral units and 15 voting areas, arranged appropriately for people in remote villages and border villages to conveniently participate in the election.
The atmosphere of preparation for election day also spread to each highland village. After working hours, many people gathered at the village cultural house to discuss voter lists and action programs of candidates.


In Nam Nghep village, Ngoc Chien commune, where there are 135 households with 735 people, 100% of whom are H'Mong ethnic people, the election preparation work is also being actively implemented.
According to Mr. Khang A Say, Secretary of the Party Cell, Head of the village, the village belongs to constituency No. 4; the village management board has posted voter lists and propagated for people to participate in voting on time.
Mr. Khang A Nha, a voter in Nam Nghep village, shared that this is the second time he has participated in the election, so he is very excited. "We want to select delegates who are truly interested in the lives of people in the highlands," he said.
Currently, in many polling stations in the mountainous communes of Son La, preparations for election day are being completed. Voter and candidate lists are publicly posted, and election teams continue to review each task.
The election is expected to take place safely, democratically, and in accordance with regulations, becoming a big festival for the people of the highlands of Son La.
