On the morning of June 25, at the National Convention Center (Hanoi), the solemn session of the 13th National Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, term 2026 - 2031 took place.
Vietnamese youth in the new era are brave, intelligent, pioneering, and full of aspirations
Presenting the opening speech, Mr. Bui Quang Huy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Youth Union - stated clearly: Looking back at the past journey, with the spirit of "Aspiration - pioneering - solidarity - bravery - creativity", it can be affirmed that the Youth Union work and the youth and children's movement have achieved many important results, leaving clear marks.
Notably, the Youth Union organization has made a strong shift in thinking, content and methods of operation in a practical direction, closely following reality, taking youth as the center of activities.
Science, technology, innovation and digital transformation are increasingly becoming clear highlights, not only encouraging and motivating youth to actively participate in this important field, but also contributing to renewing propaganda and education, improving the effectiveness of solidarity, gathering youth, and expanding the Union's operating space in the digital environment and cyberspace.
The work of grasping the ideological situation, orienting public opinion, and protecting the Party's ideological foundation continues to be concerned, deployed proactively and promptly, more suitable to the requirements of the new situation.
Through 3 revolutionary action movements, 3 programs accompanying youth, the pioneering role, sense of responsibility and aspiration to contribute of youth continue to be awakened and strongly promoted.
Activities are increasingly closely linked to the requirements of socio-economic development of the country, political tasks of localities and units, and the legitimate needs of youth, thereby creating an environment for youth to train and grow.
From the reality of the movement, more and more typical examples have emerged in learning, labor, scientific research, entrepreneurship, volunteering, digital transformation and national defense.
Through this, the image of Vietnamese youth in the new era continues to be affirmed more clearly: bravery, intelligence, pioneering, ambitious, responsible to the community and ready to dedicate themselves to the development of the country.
These encouraging results are thanks to the Party, State and People always placing deep trust and love in the young generation and having many important guidelines and policies, creating favorable conditions to care for, educate, nurture, and promote the role and responsibility of youth and children.
In particular, it is also the result of the efforts and endeavors with the spirit of dedication and responsibility of the team of officials, union members, and youth and children nationwide.
Youth Union work and youth and children's movements need to continue to innovate more strongly.
According to Mr. Bui Quang Huy, the 13th National Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union takes place at a time when the country enters a new era, with strong development momentum from science, technology, innovation, digital transformation and international integration.
This is also the time when socio-political organizations, including the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union organization, are making efforts to implement the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress, and the Resolution of the 11th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
That context poses new requirements and new tasks for the Youth Union organization and Vietnamese youth; and at the same time opens up many opportunities for young people to grow, contribute and affirm themselves.
Faced with that requirement, Youth Union work and youth and children's movements need to continue to innovate more strongly in terms of content and methods of operation; be more creative, attractive, practical, and effective; and be closer to the pace of life, needs, and legitimate aspirations of young people in the new era.
The Youth Union organization needs to continue to promote its role as a socialist school of youth; as an environment for Youth Union officials to cultivate political bravery, moral qualities, working style and professional capacity; build a class of pioneering youth, rich in spirit of innovation, daring to think, daring to do, dynamic, and creative.
In that spirit, this Congress is responsible for focusing intelligence, promoting democracy, discussing and deciding on major issues of important significance for the Youth Union work and the youth and children's movement in the coming term; contributing to fostering revolutionary ideals, consolidating belief, taking better care of youth, encouraging and motivating youth to start businesses and establish careers; improving integration capacity, mastering science and technology; creating clear changes in preventing law violations and social evils among youth and children.
Over the past time, with the attention and direction of the Politburo, the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee, the affection and special trust of the General Secretary and President; the dedicated and responsible guidance of the Fatherland Front, departments, ministries, branches, and central mass organizations; the concern and creation of conditions by Party committees and authorities at all levels in localities and units, the entire Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union has achieved many achievements and successfully organized Youth Union Congresses at all levels towards the 13th National Youth Union Congress.
The Congress respectfully thanks the guiding opinions and valuable contributions of leaders and former leaders of the Party and State, veteran revolutionaries, managers, scientists, educators, youth union officials of all periods and people from all walks of life in the process of building documents and preparing for the Congress, expressing deep feelings and love for the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the young Vietnamese generation.
The Congress warmly praised the vibrant emulation movement of youth across the country, with enthusiasm and creativity, with specific actions and deeds to achieve many achievements to celebrate the Congress. A new journey for Vietnamese youth is opening up. The strength of youth is being passed down by previous generations, trusted by the Party, cared for by the State, awakened and entrusted with responsibility before the Fatherland, People and youth.
With the spirit: "Resilience - Pioneering creativity - Aspiration to contribute - Mastering the future", the decisions of the Congress show the steadfast belief of the young generation in the Party and the regime; show the enthusiasm, will, strong resilience to rise up and noble aspirations of Vietnamese youth, determined to bring talent and youth to contribute to realizing the goal of national development to 2030, vision to 2045, bringing the country to prosperous and happy development", the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Youth Union emphasized.
