Updated from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 7:00 a.m. on November 10, the center of storm No. 14 Fung-wong was at about 17.4 degrees north latitude; 119.2 degrees east longitude, in the eastern sea of the northern East Sea. The strongest wind near the storm center is level 13 (134-149 km/h), gusting to level 16. The storm is moving west-northwest at a speed of about 15 km/h.
It is forecasted that in the next 24 hours, the storm will move northwest, at a speed of 10-15 km/h.
At 7:00 a.m. on November 11, the center of the storm is forecast to be at about 19.3 degrees north latitude; 117.7 degrees east longitude, in the sea east of the northern East Sea. The strongest wind near the storm center is level 13, gusting to level 16.
The dangerous area in the East Sea has strong winds of level 6 or higher, determined from latitude 15 to 21 degrees north latitude and east of longitude 116.0 degrees east longitude. The natural disaster risk level is level 3 for the eastern sea area of the North East Sea.
It is forecasted that in the next 48 hours, the storm will change direction to the north-northeast, at a speed of 10 - 15 km/h. At 7:00 a.m. on November 12, the center of the storm was at about 21.8 degrees north latitude; 118.7 degrees east longitude, in the northeastern sea area of the northern East Sea. The storm intensity is still strong at level 13, gusting to level 16.
The danger zone is located between latitudes 17.5 to 23.5 degrees north latitude and east of longitude 116 degrees east longitude. The natural disaster risk level is level 3 for the eastern sea area of the North East Sea.
It is forecasted that in the next 72 hours, the storm will continue to move northeast at a speed of 15-20 km/h and gradually weaken.
At 7:00 a.m. on November 13, the center of the storm was at about 24.6 degrees north latitude; 122.2 degrees east longitude, in the northeastern coastal area of Taiwan (China). The strongest wind will decrease to level 8, gusting to level 10. The affected area continues to be the northeastern sea area of the northern East Sea with a natural disaster risk level 3.
In the next 72 to 96 hours, the storm will move east-northeast, traveling 20 - 25 km per hour and continue to weaken.
Warning of strong winds and big waves at sea, the sea area east of the northern East Sea will have strong winds of level 8 - 10; especially the area near the storm's eye will have strong winds of level 11 - 13, gusting to level 16. Waves are 5 - 8 m high, especially near the center of the storm 8 - 10 m. The sea is rough. All ships operating in the dangerous area are at high risk of being affected by thunderstorms, strong winds and big waves, and need to proactively take precautions.
