According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, in the past 24 hours (from 7:00 a.m. on September 29 to 7:00 a.m. on September 30), the Northern provinces, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An have had heavy rain, some places have had very heavy rain such as Ta Si Lang 367.4 mm (Lao Cai), Muong Do 294 mm (Son La), Lao Chai 220.4 mm (Tuyen Quang), Bao Hieu 373 mm (Phu Tho), My Yen 296.2 mm (Thai Nguyen), Hong An 254.6 mm (Cao Bang), Nhan Ly 207.9 mm (Lang Son), Ha My 226 mm (Bac Ninh), Chuc Bai Son 154.6 mm (Quang Ninh), Thanh Hung 315.4 mm (Thanh Hoa), Khe Bo 179.6 mm (Nghe An).
Soil moisture models show that some areas in the above provinces are nearly saturated (over 85%) or have reached a saturated state.
Warning in the next 3 - 6 hours (from 7:40 on September 30), the above provinces will continue to have rain with common accumulated rainfall in Phu Tho, Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen, Cao Bang and Lang Son provinces from 40 - 80 mm, some places over 100 mm. Other provinces in the Northern region will have rainfall from 20 - 50 mm, some places over 70 mm; Thanh Hoa and Nghe An from 10 - 30 mm, some places over 50 mm.
Warning in the next 6 hours (from 7:40 on September 30), there is a risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes in many communes and wards.




The meteorological agency warns that the risk of natural disasters due to flash floods, landslides, and land subsidence due to heavy rain or water flow is level 1; in Lao Cai, Phu Tho, Thanh Hoa, it is level 2.
The meteorological agency recommends that localities proactively review flow bottlenecks and vulnerable areas to take timely preventive and response measures to the above risks.
