According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, through monitoring on satellite images, thunderstorm location data and weather radar, it was discovered that convective clouds are developing and causing rain in the areas of Soc Son, Da Phuc, Dong Anh, Thu Lam, Phu Dong, Dai Xuyen, Ung Hoa, moving and expanding to the inner city of Hanoi.
In the Hanoi area, from the next 30 minutes to 3 hours (from 4:05 p.m. on September 21), this cloud area will cause rain in the above wards/communes, then spread to other wards/communes in the inner city. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind. The warning level of natural disaster risk due to tornadoes, lightning, and hail is level 1.
In the Northern and Central Highlands in the evening and night of September 21, there will be showers and scattered thunderstorms with rainfall of 15 - 30mm, locally heavy to very heavy rain over 100mm.
The area from Nghe An to Hue city; the coastal areas of the South Central and South regions in the evening and evening of September 21 is forecast to have scattered showers and thunderstorms with rainfall of 10 - 30mm, locally heavy rain over 70mm. Warning of the risk of heavy rain with rainfall greater than 70mm within 3 hours.
During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. Localized heavy rains are likely to cause flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes and flooding in low-lying areas.
