Initial information, at 9:10 a.m. on October 16, at the yard of Nguyen Trai Primary School (Bao Loc Ward 2, Lam Dong), an ancient royal poinciana tree was uprooted and fell. This royal poinciana tree is located right in the area where teachers and students often pass by.

Fortunately, the royal poinciana tree was uprooted and fell at the time the school had just played the drum to signal the end of the school day 5 minutes before; most of the students had entered the classroom so no one was injured.
A representative of the school's board of directors said: During recess, many students come back and forth, playing under the roots and canopy of the royal poinciana tree.

According to records, this royal poinciana tree is about 8 to 10 m high and has had its branches pruning. The tooth and trunk of the phoenix tree have both rotten and no longer have the stump roots.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan, Principal of Nguyen Trai Primary School, said: There are currently 5 phoenix trees and many old Soap and pine trees in the school grounds. Fortunately, the royal poinciana tree fell without injuring anyone, but it is making the school, teachers, students and parents worried.
The school is preparing a report to the People's Committee of Bao Loc Ward 2 to inspect the tree system to take measures to ensure the safety of teachers and students.

Regarding this incident, Mr. Hoang Tuan Anh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Bao Loc Ward 2, said: The locality has conducted a field inspection to assess the safety level of the tree system at Nguyen Trai Primary School.
The ward will also issue a document directing the relevant agencies to inspect and review the shade- covering tree system at the school grounds in the area, promptly taking measures to ensure the safety of teachers and students at schools.
