On November 5, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment held a press conference to announce activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Agricultural and Environmental Industry's Traditional Day (1945 - 2025) and the 1st Patriotic Emulation Congress.
This is an important socio-political event, marking the 50-year journey of building, maturing and contributing to the Agriculture and Environment sector, while affirming the strategic role and pillar of agriculture, farmers, rural areas, resources and environment in the cause of sustainable development of the country.
The 80th anniversary is an opportunity for the whole industry to review the glorious tradition, express gratitude to generations of cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers who have contributed; at the same time, arouse the spirit of innovation, creativity and aspiration to rise up in the new period - the period of green transformation, ecological agricultural development, circular economy and sustainable growth associated with environmental protection.
According to the plan of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, the series of events celebrating the 80th anniversary will take place from July to December 2025 with many rich activities, spreading widely across the country.
The focus is on the 80th Anniversary of the Agriculture and Environment sector and the 1st Patriotic Emulation Congress, held on the morning of November 12, 2025 at the National Convention Center, Hanoi with the participation of more than 1,200 delegates - including leaders of the Party, State, Government, National Assembly, former leaders of ministries, international guests and advanced models in the whole sector.
In addition, there is the Exhibition of 80 years of achievements in the Agriculture and Environment sector, held in the hall on the first floor of the National Convention Center, introducing outstanding marks of the sector through the ages, scientific and technological achievements, typical production models, with the participation of many large enterprises and industry associations, demonstrating the spirit of innovation, integration and green development of the Vietnam Agriculture and Environment sector.
The series of activities also has many other meaningful programs. Deputy Minister Phung Duc Tien affirmed: "After 8 decades of formation and development, the Agriculture and Environment sector has always been an important pillar of the national economy, contributing to ensuring food security and livelihoods for tens of millions of people, protecting natural resources, biodiversity and ecological balance.
Whether in wartime, in the period of renovation or in the period of extensive international integration, the industry has always been close and mutually supportive between the two fields of agriculture and environment, affirming the "supporting" role of the economy, the foundation of sustainable development and social stability".
With the motto "Tradition - Innovation - Development - Sustainability", the 80th Anniversary of the Agriculture and Environment sector is not only an occasion to show gratitude for the contributions of generations, but also a milestone opening a new stage of development - towards ecological agriculture, modern countryside, civilized farmers, associated with effective and sustainable management, exploitation and protection of natural resources and the environment.
Promoting the glorious 50-year tradition, the whole industry continues to promote patriotic emulation, innovating management thinking, applying science - technology, digital transformation, contributing to building a rich, green and happy country, realizing the aspiration of "Vietnam is strong, prosperous, green and sustainable".
