According to information from the Central Hydrometeorological Station, in the past 24 hours, Da Nang city recorded heavy to very heavy rain, total rainfall was 150-280mm, some places were higher than 300mm.
In Ai Nghia, the flood level reached 6.58m, 0.08m higher than alert level 1; in Hoi An, the water level was 1.04m, 0.04m higher than alert level 1. Currently, the water level on Vu Gia - Thu Bon River, Han River and Tam Ky River is decreasing slowly, still below alert level 1.
It is forecasted that from September 28 to 29, Da Nang will continue to have heavy to very heavy rain, with total rainfall generally 50-130mm, some places over 170mm. There is a high risk of flooding in low-lying areas along rivers, flooding in urban areas, and flash floods and landslides may occur in mountainous areas. The risk level of natural disasters due to heavy rain and floods is determined at level 1.
In addition, the soil moisture model shows that many areas in Da Nang are nearly saturated, over 95%. In the next 6 hours, rain will continue with a common amount of 20-50mm, some places over 70mm, increasing the risk of flash floods, landslides and subsidence. These phenomena can have a negative impact on the environment, threaten people's lives, congest traffic and damage civil works, affect production and socio-economic activities.
The authorities recommend that people in mountainous areas, along rivers, and low-lying areas proactively avoid and closely monitor disaster forecasts and warnings to minimize damage.
