    Rainfall from 7pm on October 16 to 8am on October 17 was over 70mm in some places such as: Pho Lu (Lao Cai) 101mm, Nam Can (Lai Chau) 92mm, Duc Binh Dong (Phu Yen) 74.5mm...

    In the South Central, Central Highlands and Southern regions on the day and night of October 17, it is forecasted to have rain, moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain with rainfall from 20 - 40mm, locally over 80mm.

    Rain will be concentrated in the afternoon and evening.Warning of the risk of local heavy rain (rainfall greater than 80mm within 6 hours).

    In the Central Central region on the afternoon and night of October 17, scattered showers and thunderstorms are forecast, with some places having heavy rain with rainfall from 10 - 30mm, some places having over 50mm.

    The meteorological agency warns that there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind during thunderstorms.Local heavy rain can cause flooding in low-lying areas; flash floods on small rivers and streams, and landslides on steep slopes.

    Regarding sea weather, the western sea area of ​​the North East Sea (including the sea area of ​​Hoang Sa archipelago), the central and southern East Sea area (including the sea area of ​​Truong Sa archipelago), the sea area from Binh Dinh to Ca Mau and the Gulf of Thailand has scattered showers and thunderstorms.

    During the day and night of October 17, the western sea area of ​​the North East Sea (including the waters of the Hoang Sa archipelago), the central and southern East Sea area (including the waters of the Truong Sa archipelago), the sea area from Binh Dinh to Ca Mau, Ca Mau to Kien Giang and the Gulf of Thailand will have scattered showers and thunderstorms. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes and strong gusts of wind of level 7 - 8.

    All vessels operating in the above areas are at risk of being affected by tornadoes and strong gusts of wind.
