On the afternoon of November 8, Lam Dong provincial authorities continued to deploy measures to overcome the incident of landslides, cracks, and subsidence that occurred at Cay An reservoir (Tra Nang commune).

Accordingly, the Duc Trong Construction Investment Project Management Board will conduct measurements, positioning and performing 48 additional drilling points, divided into 3 rows of drilling points on the dam surface in the incident area.
From these drilling points, concrete will be pumped directly into the middle of the dam body to prevent leakage and keep the project safe.
Along with that, the monitoring and supervision work will be closely monitored by competent authorities, ready to respond when an incident occurs.

Previously, Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi signed a Decision to issue an order to build emergency works for the emergency repair project to leak and slide through Cay An reservoir phase 1, with a total cost of 2.9 billion VND.
The Duc Trong Construction Investment Project Management Board is assigned to the investor to immediately deploy technical measures to reinforce the dam body at the landslide and subsidence site.

As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, on the evening of November 7, Cay An reservoir collapsed, cracked and sank for tens of meters, with the risk of dam failure.
Lam Dong province has mobilized more than 400 people from many forces to urgently deploy measures to overcome the incident to ensure the safety of the lake and residential areas downstream of the lake.
Mr. Nguyen Tien Dien, Secretary of the Party Committee of Ta Nang commune, said that to reduce water pressure in Cay An lake, on the night of November 7, the authorities decided to break the concrete wall to keep water in the spillway area.

On the other hand, a pump system is used to pump water out of the lake, to reduce pressure on the dam. By the afternoon of the same day, the water level in Cay An Lake had dropped more than 1 m compared to last night.
According to Mr. Dien, the reinforcement of the Cay An reservoir dam is currently relatively safe, and the military has temporarily withdrawn from the scene.

Police and militia forces are still on duty to promptly detect and warn when incidents arise.
