Regarding another notable phenomenon, due to the influence of cold air compressing the low pressure trough, on May 24, the midlands, plains and coastal areas of the North, South Son La, and Hoa Binh will have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain.
Day and night on May 24, the North Central region will have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain.
Thunderstorms accompanied by tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind can affect agricultural production, break trees, damage houses, traffic works and infrastructure.
Heavy rain is likely to cause flooding in low-lying areas; flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes; heavy rain in a short period of time causing flooding in urban areas and industrial parks.
