Lam Dong warns of risk of flash floods and landslides in many areas

Lam Dong - Prolonged rain has caused soil in many areas near or saturated, increasing the risk of flash floods, landslides, and subsidence.

On the afternoon of September 15, the Lam Dong Provincial Hydrometeorological Station warned of the risk of flash floods, landslides, and subsidence in many areas in the area.

From 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM on the same day, many places had moderate to heavy rain, continuing the previous rain days.

The soil moisture model shows that many areas have moisture above 85%, near saturation or saturated.

The meteorological agency warns of the risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams; landslides and subsidence at steep slopes, mountain passes, positive slopes and traffic routes.

Risk areas include upstream of Cam Ly stream; Prenn, Mimosa, Sacom, Ta Nung passes and the pass route on National Highway 27C connecting Lam Dong with Khanh Hoa.

In Xuan Huong ward - Da Lat, the risk of landslides is warned at the slope slopes on Dang Thai Than, Hoang Hoa Tham, Trieu Viet Vuong streets. Dung Kno 5 resettlement area, Dam Rong 4 commune is also located in the warning area.

The risk of flash floods and landslides is also warned on National Highway 20 through Da Huoai 3, Phu Hiep communes; National Highway 28B through Phan Son commune; National Highway 28 through Gia Bac, Ta Dung, Quang Son, Quang Khe communes and National Highway 14 through Nam Gia Nghia, Dong Gia Nghia, Bac Gia Nghia wards.

Functional agencies recommend that people proactively monitor weather developments, limit going through areas at risk of landslides and deep flooding, especially during prolonged heavy rain.
