On July 6, the People's Committee of Lam Dong province announced that it had issued a decision approving the plan to pay forest environmental service costs (DVMTR) with surplus from 2018 and earlier at the Provincial Forest Protection and Development Fund, arising in the province before arranging administrative units.
According to the approved plan, the total expenditure is more than 142.7 billion VND.

Of which, nearly 137.9 billion VND was additionally paid to eligible beneficiaries, and about 4.86 billion VND is the amount of funding that has not been identified for recipients.
The funding source includes surplus forest environmental services and interest arising from bank deposits.
This amount will be additionally paid for 2009, 2012, 2013 and 2018 to tens of thousands of households and forest owners in the Dong Nai and Serepok river basins.
According to the Provincial People's Committee, the payment will be implemented in 2026 to implement the conclusions of the inspection and audit agencies, and at the same time ensure the rights of forest owners and forest protection contractors.
The Lam Dong Provincial Forest Protection and Development Fund is assigned to preside over and coordinate with localities and relevant units to organize payments to the right beneficiaries, in accordance with regulations; and at the same time review, summarize and propose handling plans for the funds that have not identified beneficiaries.
The Provincial People's Committee also requested forest owners to urgently pay forest protection contractors, contributing to improving the effectiveness of implementing forest environmental service payment policies, creating motivation for people to continue to participate in managing, protecting and developing sustainable forests.
