On the afternoon of September 22, Standing Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Hai signed a decision announcing an emergency situation for natural disasters on Prenn Pass, Xuan Huong ward - Da Lat.
According to the People's Committee of Lam Dong province, due to the influence of the circulation of storm No. 4, storm No. 5 and tropical depression, Xuan Huong ward - Da Lat has experienced many heavy rains from August 2026 to now.
Prolonged rain causes landslides of soil and rock regularly at many locations on the Prenn pass.
In the landslide area, functional agencies arrange specialized excavators to be on duty, ready to dig, excavate and move soil and rocks at risk of falling from the positive slope to the road surface.
At the foot of the hill, large concrete barriers are arranged to limit mud and soil from overflowing into the road surface.
This is a temporary solution to maintain traffic through the pass and reduce the risk of unsafety for people and vehicles.
According to the decision, functional agencies organize 24/24 hour duty at the construction site; monitor, track and evaluate the diễn biến of natural disasters, movements, cracks and landslides in the area.
The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Construction to urgently survey and assess the scope, extent and cause of landslides at Km225+250; and immediately propose immediate handling and remedial plans to ensure safety and maintain smooth traffic.
