On September 21, functional forces of Lam Dong province inspected and handled a negative taluy landslide point on Prenn Pass, near Datanla bridge, Xuan Huong ward - Da Lat.
According to records, at about 10 am on the same day, prolonged heavy rain caused landslides of soil and rock at the negative slope, drifting into ravines tens of meters deep. The landslide point is about 10m long, eating deeper into the foot of the pass road more than 2m.
Functional forces have inspected the scene, assessed the extent of the landslide and implemented measures to ensure safety for people and vehicles passing through the area.
Notably, at this location, on November 17, 2025, a large landslide occurred. Soil and rocks from the negative slope fell into a deep abyss, affecting traffic through Prenn Pass.
After that, functional forces had to close the line for a long time for construction and repair.
Prenn Pass is about 10km long, belonging to National Highway 20, is a vital road connecting Da Lat with the southern provinces.
As Lao Dong Newspaper has reported: Previously, in the afternoon of September 19, heavy rain also caused at least 3 rocks from tens of meters high positive slopes to fall onto the Prenn Pass road, causing traffic obstruction.
At the time of the incident, some drivers discovered soil and rocks falling onto the road, so they actively slowed down and stopped their vehicles to avoid them. The incident did not cause any casualties or property damage.
On the morning of September 21, Mr. Ho Van Muoi - Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee inspected the actual landslide situation on Prenn Pass and directed the urgent announcement of an emergency situation for natural disasters at Prenn Pass.
