On June 25, functional forces of Lang Biang ward - Da Lat (Lam Dong) coordinated with relevant units to inspect and handle cases of arbitrary leveling and encroachment on Suoi Vang lake.

According to verification, Mr. Tran Ngoc Sang (resident of Lang Biang ward - Da Lat) hired an excavator to dig soil in the lake area to reinforce and build fish pond banks.
The leveling location is next to Suoi Vang bridge, under the management of Lam Dong Power Company.
Through on-site inspection, functional forces recorded that the affected lake bed area is about 200m2.
At the time of inspection, a section of the lake bed along the water bank showed new traces of excavation. The scene has a hole about 2m deep and nearly 100m long.

A large amount of soil and sand scooped up from the lakebed has been built into a shield line stretching parallel to the fence of Sang Thao restaurant.
The newly built embankment is covered with black plastic tarpaulin.
Observations from above show that the entire amount of soil dug from the lakebed has been used to form a temporary dike line surrounding the lakeside area.

Inside this area, a shack and some items built with solid concrete pillars of Sang Thao quán appeared, extending towards the water surface of Suoi Vang lake.
Working with functional agencies, Mr. Tran Ngoc Sang admitted that the act of digging and leveling the lake was a violation and committed to restoring the original state and returning the entire encroached area.
Suoi Vang Lake is formed from two lakes Dankia and Ankroet, with a capacity of nearly 20 million m3 of water.
This is an important source of domestic water supply for Da Lat people, and also serves the operation of the Ankroet Hydropower Plant.
The Ankroet Hydropower Plant (Lam Dong) started construction in 1942 and was the first project in Vietnam to generate electricity in 1946.

This is the oldest hydropower plant in Vietnam with split stone architecture imbued with the imprint of southwestern France.
Not only playing a role in irrigation and water supply, Suoi Vang Lake and the surrounding pine hill system are also famous tourist destinations.
From there, creating one of the typical landscapes of Da Lat, attracting a large number of people and tourists to visit.
