According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, currently, floods on the Huong River (Hue City) are fluctuating at a high level; floods on the Vu Gia River (Da Nang City) and Tra Khuc River (Quang Ngai) are receding. In particular, the flood on Thu Bon River (Da Nang City) at Cau Lau Station is fluctuating at the peak level, equivalent to the flood peak in 2007 (5.39 m).
At 8:00 a.m. on October 28, 2025, the water level measured at some stations is as follows:
- On the Bo River (Hue city) at Phuoc station is 4.87 m, 0.37 m higher than alert level 3.
- On the Huong River (Hue city) at Kim Long station is 4.61 m, 1.11 m higher than alert level 3.
- On Vu Gia River (Da Nang City) at Ai Nghia Station is 10.03 m, 1.03 m higher than alert level 3.
- On Thu Bon River (Da Nang City) at Nong Son Station is 17.08 m, 2.08 m higher than alert level 3; at Cau Lau Station is 5.34 m, 1.34 m higher than alert level 3.
- On Tra Khuc River (Quang Ngai) at Tra Khuc station is 4.23 m, 0.73 m higher than alert level 1.
In the next 6 hours, the flood on Thu Bon River at Cau Lau station will fluctuate at the peak level, then slowly decrease.
In the next 24 hours, floods on rivers in Hue city and Da Nang city will decrease and remain above alert level 3.
Floods on Tra Khuc River (Quang Ngai) will decrease and be below alert level 1. The situation of deep and widespread flooding in Hue city and Da Nang city will continue to persist in the next few days; there is a high risk of flash floods on rivers and streams and landslides on steep slopes in provinces from Hue city to Quang Ngai.
Real-time warning information on the risk of flash floods and landslides is provided online on the website of the Department of Hydrometeorology at: https://luquetsatlo.nchmf.gov.vn and in the flash flood and landslide warning bulletin.
The meteorological agency warns that the risk of natural disasters due to floods is level 3.
Floods on rivers and flooding in low-lying areas will affect activities such as waterway transportation, aquaculture, agricultural production, people's lives and socio-economic activities.
Forecast and warning information is calculated with the expected regulating operation level of upstream reservoirs. The Hydrometeorological Agency will update bulletins when there are changes in the discharge flow of reservoirs.
