It is forecasted that after 3 days (from October 31 to November 2) the rain will stop and sunshine will appear after the flood caused by the circulation of storm No. 6 - Tra Mi, the Central region may again be affected by some bad weather patterns causing heavy rain lasting from November 3-10, 2024.
Heavy rains in the Central region are warned to continue to have complicated developments with the possibility of 2-3 heavy rains, in which the first half of November will be concentrated in the provinces from Ha Tinh to Quang Ngai, the second half of November and early December will be concentrated in the provinces from Quang Binh to Phu Yen.
Implementing the direction of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, on November 1, the People's Committees of the provinces and cities in the Central region immediately issued an official dispatch directing local authorities, relevant agencies and units to focus on overcoming the consequences of storm No. 6, while continuing to review and strengthen the organization of natural disaster prevention and control.
In Quang Nam, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Ho Quang Buu signed an official dispatch directing the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue to proactively respond to heavy rain, thunderstorms, tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.
Review and be ready to evacuate people in areas at risk of deep flooding, flash floods, and landslides; prepare forces, vehicles, equipment, and essential supplies according to the "four on-site" principle to be ready to respond to all situations. Review plans to ensure traffic safety, especially in areas that are easily isolated; proactively arrange forces, materials, and vehicles to overcome incidents and ensure smooth traffic on major traffic routes.
Proactively harvest aquaculture and agricultural production early with the motto "green at home is better than old in the fields".
Mr. Buu also assigned specific flood and storm prevention work to each department, branch, and locality.
In particular, direct units managing irrigation and hydropower reservoirs to be on duty 24/7, inspect and monitor dams, promptly detect and handle incidents; closely monitor rainfall and water levels of reservoirs, and regularly report to superior management agencies. Implement well the notification and information to downstream areas, and ensure reservoir operation and regulation in accordance with the operating procedures approved by competent authorities.
