At about 4 pm on June 2, many localities in the southern region of Lam Dong province experienced widespread heavy rain.

In Bao Lam 3 commune, prolonged rain for many hours caused National Highway 55, the section passing through hamlet 9, to be heavily flooded. Water rose high on a road section hundreds of meters long.
Recorded at the scene, the water was deeply submerged from 0.4 - 0.6m, causing this section of National Highway 55 to almost turn into a river for many hours.
Many vehicles, mainly motorbikes, stalled when traveling through the flooded area. Water also flooded into some houses along the road, affecting people's lives and property.

Mr. Hong Viet Trung - Chairman of Bao Lam 3 Commune People's Committee - said that immediately after receiving the information, the locality mobilized police and military forces to the scene to regulate and divert traffic and support people to move property to safe places.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy - a resident living near the flooded area, this is a low point, so when it rains heavily, water from many directions rushes in.
Meanwhile, the drainage system is small, silted up by mud, so it cannot drain in time, causing localized flooding.
Only from the end of May to now, this area has been deeply flooded at least 3 times. Each time it is flooded, traffic is blocked, water floods into people's houses causing many difficulties. Functional agencies need to soon clear the drainage system to limit this situation during the rainy season," Ms. Thuy reflected.
Until about 9:10 pm on the same day, the rain continued, water on National Highway 55 was still deeply flooded for a long time. Functional forces continued to be on duty at the scene to regulate traffic and ensure safety for people and vehicles passing by.
