At around 2:30 p.m. on October 19, in the southern localities of Lam Dong province, there was another prolonged heavy rain.
In particular, in Bao Lam commune, 3 heavy rains lasted for more than 2 hours, causing National Highway 55 through village 9 to continue to be deeply submerged in water.

The road was deeply flooded, causing local congestion for both sides of National Highway 55. Many vehicles traveling through this road stalled.
Along with that, the road was deeply flooded, water overflowed into the houses of many households to make items and furniture that were wet.

According to local people, in previous years, this road section was rarely flooded like it is now.
This year alone, since the construction unit is repairing and upgrading National Highway 55, the drainage system has been affected, causing the road to be continuously flooded after heavy rains.
Ms. Thao, a resident of this area, said: Since the beginning of the rainy season, this road has been flooded more than 10 times. Every time there is prolonged heavy rain, the road is flooded over 0.5 m.
The deeply flooded road not only causes traffic congestion, but also causes water to flood into our houses, disrupting the lives of our people".

After the road was flooded, the authorities of Bao Lam 3 commune promptly arrived to erect warning signs of danger; at the same time, regulate and divert traffic to ensure traffic safety.
Previously, as reported, on the afternoon of October 18, prolonged heavy rain also caused this road section to be deeply submerged in water. Vehicles traveling here were congested for more than an hour.

National Highway 55 is a route connecting the communes and wards in the South of Lam Dong province with the localities in the Southeast of Lam Dong province (under the old Binh Thuan province). Since the merger, the traffic volume on National Highway 55 has increased.
