According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, tonight, May 26, the Central Highlands and the South will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with rainfall from 10 - 30mm, some places over 50mm.

The highest water level observed at Vung Tau station reached 3.74m at 00:30 on May 26.

It is forecasted that from the evening of May 26 to May 27, coastal provinces from Vung Tau to Ca Mau will have high tides forecast to be about 3.85 - 3.9m.
The time of high water levels in the morning is about 2am - 6am and in the afternoon is about 10am - 12pm.
The meteorological agency warns that in the next 24 to 48 hours, the water level in the coastal area of the Southeast will continue to increase.
The highest peak tide at Vung Tau station is forecast to be about 3.9 - 4m. Risk of flooding in low-lying coastal areas, riverbanks and areas outside the dike in the early morning and late afternoon.
There is a high risk of increased saline intrusion on rivers in the Southeast region.
