On the morning of January 7, Chairman of Ta Nang Commune People's Committee (Lam Dong) Nguyen Vu Linh Sang said that the locality had just completed procedures to hand over a black-cheeked white-cheeked monkey to Cat Tien National Park for care and handling according to regulations.

Previously, Mr. Tran Xuan Vinh (resident of Doan Ket village, Ta Nang commune) discovered a monkey individual appearing in his garden.
Recognizing that this is a rare forest animal that needs to be protected, Mr. Vinh proactively arrested it safely and handed it over to the local police.
Through inspection, functional agencies determined that the gibbon was still alive, weighing about 10kg, belonging to group IB black-cheeked gibbons - a group of endangered, precious, and rare forest animals strictly protected by law.
At the time of reception, the gibbon individual was in stable health.

Ta Nang Commune People's Committee then coordinated with Cat Tien National Park to carry out the handover according to the correct procedure, ensuring safety for gibbon individuals and complying with regulations on biodiversity conservation.
Mr. Vinh's voluntary handover of rare forest animals shows a sense of law compliance. Thereby, contributing to protecting nature and biodiversity in the area.
