On June 1, Cat Tien 3 Commune Police (Lam Dong province) said that the unit had just coordinated with the forest ranger force to receive and complete the procedures for releasing a golden lotus turtle voluntarily handed over by people.
The handover person is Mr. Nguyen Van Xuan (25 years old, residing in Cat Tien 3 commune).

Previously, while visiting the garden, Mr. Xuan discovered a turtle individual appearing in the cultivated area.
After finding out information, he determined that this was a golden lotus turtle (scientific name Heosemys grandis), a rare wild animal, so he contacted the commune police to hand it over.
Upon receiving the information, Cat Tien 3 Commune Police coordinated with the Cat Tien National Park Forest Protection force to inspect and determined that the turtle weighed about 1.3kg and was in normal health.

After that, the turtle was handed over to the Cat Tien National Park Forest Protection force for re-release to the natural environment according to regulations.
