On December 5, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee said that it had issued a directive requiring owners of irrigation and hydroelectric reservoirs to strictly comply with regulations on reservoir operation; implement plans to respond to natural disasters and emergency situations according to regulations.
Lam Dong province requires reservoir owners to notify downstream localities about flood discharge plans and operating times, and provide accurate and continuous information.

At the same time, inspect, review, and implement plans to ensure the safety of lakes and dams in accordance with the development of floods. Focus on operating reservoirs to ensure safety of works and downstream areas, especially in emergency flood discharge situations.
Request communes, wards and special zones to evacuate people in deeply flooded areas and areas at risk of insecurity to safe places. Absolutely do not let people be isolated.

At the same time, organize duty shifts, arrange forces at vulnerable points, support and ensure safety for people. Localities must establish temporary housing areas; ensure food, clean water, lighting, medicine and necessities.
Police and military forces are required to deploy security forces, support and evacuate people from dangerous areas; prepare rescue forces in areas with rapidly rising water, areas at risk of landslides; and rescue and relief.

The Provincial People's Committee requested relevant departments and branches to closely monitor weather developments, carry out professional tasks to respond to natural disasters, support people to overcome the consequences of floods, and stabilize their lives.
According to Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, floods during the two days of December 3 and 4 caused many residential areas to be deeply flooded, seriously affecting people's lives.

The province recorded nearly 3,300 houses flooded, of which Ham Liem commune had 300 houses, Song Luy commune had 400 houses, Hiep Than commune had more than 150 houses, Lien Huong commune had more than 1,000 houses... Floods caused 250 boats to sink or drift into the sea, causing estimated damage of tens of billions of VND.
